We kept it as a pet for several months until it got run over by a truck. Then we ate him.

Judging from their reaction, it's no longer YOUR blind - it's THEIR blind.

Time ... And make sure they all get out!! Come back in a couple of weeks and clean out the mess.
Started screwing the windows closed after owls got in one blind and buzzards in another, not fun...

Neat birds. The one below was a pet--in 1967. It loved to have its "nose" scratched.
Me and ol' RUGER, 74 years and still shooting.

Any idea how to encourage them to relocate? Kevin Put in windows. Window somehow blew out. I was prepared for visitors when I saw the window on the ground, but still scared the crap out of me. Barn owls are really cool, but I would rather not share this blind with them.

Can't really tell from the picture, but is that an adult owl or young one? If adult, you are going to have to make it want to leave. My neighbor back home had owls in his barn. Put moth balls around and the birds left within a few days. If young- maybe (?) they will just leave on their own when bigger. If not- see suggestion above

Burn it to the ground and start over. You will never get all the stink, crap and little bugs out of it.

I had no idea they made that sound. I say let em grow up and move on. Then put up sturdy windows.
How are you gonna shoot a squirell if you're lookin at your feet?

Looks like that one was shaking its head no. Imagine if you saw that in the dark.
Be careful of your solution, posting or or saying anything about such. Maybe I'm mistaken but they may be highly protected. I believe the Feds get very serious about such birds.
To be determined

I had no idea they made that sound. I say let em grow up and move on. Then put up sturdy windows. You've never seen anyone come down a ladder faster than I did without letting go first... Used language I don't usually use in front of my kids too. Probably no harm there though, they ride the bus. I've done a little reading, and I think that at least the young ones will move along before I need it. I left the door open hoping to encourage them. Need a two person blind over there anyway.

Barn owls in the blind are not that unusual. I agree on taking time to let them leave on their own. Do not envy the cleanup job. Hopefully the situation will be resolved well in advance of season.

Started to cut down a dead, hollow, oak tree in the yard. I tied a rope around a limb to make it fall right. I pulled on the limb to see if it would break, and an owl flew out of it. He/she landed on another tree about 20 feet away and just stared at me. That was in March. I figured there might be owlets inside. so I cancelled plans to fell the tree til this fall.
