I have a Diamond Black Ice, never been re-strung. I don't shoot that much, and the original bow-string actually seems in good shape still. I have also had an itch for a new bow, as I have recently asked opinions about a few on here. Anyway, IF I decide to re-string, should I expect better/faster IBO?! I'm shooting LH 26DL @ #70.

Restring the bow is a must. In my experience it should be done once a year or 1000 shots which ever comes first. Especially if they are factory strings. Well taken care of custom string will last a little longer. Factory strings IMO just don't hold up like they use to.

I was going to change mine this year but going into 3rd season, still no problems with original. Keep it waxed properly and out of the hot garage/vehicle and it should last longer.

The Strings actually look fine, I do keep them waxed, and the bow is inside where it doesn't get much sun on it...I usually take the bow out a few weeks before deer season, start shooting and checking my pins. It is still accurate, sometimes the loop gets a little tight on the knock causing a wobble in flight, but I adjust the loop and its fine afterwards....I'm not really concerned about my strings...what I'm trying to find out is if "new strings" would actually make a difference in my IBO?? I'm trying to justify buying a new bow, or keeping Black Ice for another season?! Thanks

If your draw length stays the same, and poundage stays the same, and your arrow doesn't change, then your speed won't change.

What is your speed now? Problem with IBO speeds are they are usually measured at 29", 70 pounds and nothing on the string and shooting the lightest arrow.
At 26", you may not see.much increase unless you go to a radical cam.

If the strings still look good I would just make sure you keep it waxed and take it to a shop and check the specs on the bow such as ATA and draw length and weight, stings tend to stretch (especially factory strings) and need to be checked and adjusted from time to time.
