It was raining today and I thought I'd clean up my mess from the last couple of knives I have made. When I was sweeping the floor I found a damascus drop from the other day when I cut out a knife. I just couldn't bring myself to throw it away. I thought "I believe I can make something out of that and this is what I ended up with. When I bought the Black Ash Burl scales the other day there were three of them instead of two so I had an odd ball piece of wood too. I think I am going to make a inside the pocket leather sheath with a pocket clip and use it as a non-folding pocket knife. Sorry.... picture is worse than normal.
I fought Him, ran from Him, thought I could do it all without Him, but when I finally turned to Him, He opened his arms and took me in.

This one won't be for sale. I'd like to try it out and actually see how functional it is before I sell any. The bad part will be that they will still be fairly costly because other than the actual amount of materials used, everything else is the same. It is still time consuming and a lot of work. Let me make the sheath and check it out and then I will see about making some for sale.

Great looking knife. Just bought some grips for my 1911 that are Ash Burl. If you ever end up selling these, I would love to get one.

That's just cool. I have a pile of Damascus pieces that I just can't throw away too. Even the small pieces can be used for something. I've made a few crosses for necklaces for friends.

I know you're not selling this one, but if you start making them what are you thinking on price. I am going to make a couple tomorrow with sheaths and I will be able to be more comfortable putting a price on them at that time. I was discussing this issue with another maker and we both agreed that the labor is still almost the same. The only thing to save money on is materials. Still a heck of a lot of work goes into making one. I will tell you this though, almost everyone that has handled it is on my back wanting one done. It is a very cool little kniffe. If I can get the sheath right on it where it fits inside the pocket and with a short leather strap to make it easy to get out of the sheath it will be fantastic.

How do you mark your blades? Acid? I just block that area off when doing the etch on the damascus. It is actually a reverse of what I do on a stainless blade. On the damascus it is raised up and on stainless it is recessed.

I know an ol boy who will most likely order several at once if the price is reasonable
