Cool place...you'll enjoy it. Also, take the family to NASA. It's just minutes from Kema.

Kemah and NASA are both great family vacation locations.
Don't talk the talk if you didn't walk the walk.

Go see the Astros if your schedule coincides with a home game. Minuite Maid park is a fun ball park.

This is my neck of the woods. It's a good place to visit, especially the boardwalk if you have kids. It can be very crowded at times. Plan your trip wisely. We also have Space Center Houston where you can get on some NASA tram rides/tours. There's lots to do in the area - San Jacinto Monument, Battle Ship Texas, Galveston, Moody Gardens, there is a new boardwalk/amusement park on the seawall, etc.....
PM me if you have any specific questions...

Stay at the hotel on the boardwalk if you can. We love it. Friday nights during the summer they shoot fireworks off in the bay. We'd sit out on the balcony of our room and eat pizza and watch the show. But don't plan on doing much on Monday. Most everything is closed as that's their day off. Definitely take the kids to eat at the aquarium restaurant, ride the boardwalk beast and feed the stingrays. If you've got kids, you can easily stay there a day or two and never leave boardwalk.
There's another restaurant that's pretty good but I can't remember the name. Tom's something? Was on Diners Drive Ins and Dives, has some great Armadillo eggs.

Also, if you stay at the hotel, they don't have room service to order food. But you can order food from any of the restaurants on the boardwalk and they'll deliver it to your room. And they told us not to tip!! But didn't find this out till we'd stayed there a few times already.

Probably T-Bone Tom's on 146 in Kemah. Also within a couple miles of the boardwalk are Stomp's burger joint in Bacliff on Hwy 146, and Tookie's ? burgers on 146. Everybody at work raves about both, though I have never personally been.

Kemah is great depending on what you find entertaining. We go in the fall when it's cooler and we live only 20 minutes away from it. There are plenty of fishing spots, restaraunts and places to buy fresh seafood. Clear Lake park is nice, Texas City Dike is close by, Nasa, San Jacinto monument, Battleship Texas, Lynchburg Ferry, and Lake Houston are all with in 45 minutes.
Sometimes it's hard being me! But somebody has to do it.
