I'm going to buy one of these shotguns this year. I am a beretta O/U fan but my duck/goose gun is currently a benelli nova. Therefore I am tied; I understand the difference in the cycling between the two. I'm looking more toward reliability during tough conditions while shooting a lot. Every year I do at least one conservation hunt that requires a lot of shooting.
Any comments are as always greatly appreciated. Cheers!

Save your money and buy 870 pump
Best gun for conservation hunt, mud, rain, etc.
Get yourself 2 3/4 heavyshot nr 2 or 4 and take the plug out. You will be able to fit 6 shells in that gun.
Happy happy happy

If reliability is your main concern, always go with a Benelli. Less to go wrong with it than a Beretta.

Both are excellent guns. Find which ever one fits you best and you can swing the best. I personally own an M2 Benelli and love it to pieces. Not saying anything is wrong with Beretta but from what I've put it through and I've personally seen...I'm stickin with benelli.

You can rent that A400 at Elm Fork to shoot some clays with to see how it feels.
To be determined

Never jams even with 1 oz loads so I guess I'm lucky about that, but I would expect any Beretta to be the same. Whichever fits better between the two is what you want since reliability is comparable.

I love my SBE2 but the A400 is great as well. I really think it comes down to a personal choice. There are different features and advantages to either gun that could play in that choice. But really the most important is how they feel when you hold them up...which one just feels right to you?
I went through the same thing and for me the SBEII just felt right. I got mine in 06 I think and I've had no issues with it. It's for sure been through the ringer too. If it got stolen I would go through the process again as there are more guns out there now that I would consider. I'm not one of those guys that goes out and buys a tshirt and starts cheering for whatever gun they happen to own as if it's the best for everyone...no such gun exists. There are some great ones that would work well for many people...then there are some bad ones that I would not suggest for anyone.
Dear Lord please bullwhip me for saying this but I agree, Marcstar is in the lead. Please nobody use this as a quote!!!
