I'll go with my 3 hunts that stick out... (sorry)

#1 Last day of season...(we pounded them) EVERYONE was Happy, Happy, Happy:

#2 Had Drakes Migration Nation come and hunt with us and had an AWESOME hunt! Bo, Me, Paul, Kelly, J. Paul & Ella:

#3 These guys came up and did a duck hunting 101 hunt with me. It was there first hunt ever! WE literally had near a 1000 birds hit the decoys, flocks of up to 50 birds hovering at 15-20 yards! It was absolutely awesome!

Man I can't wait for this year!

With all the new properties we have picked up it is going to be outstanding!!!! banana

Youth weekend opener. My boy's first two ducks of the season were a Sprig and a Can hen. Got to drink a couple Shiners and watch Cuervo the ducky pit bull do his thing.

Good times...

Mine was watching this feller get rolled up over some wooden decoys by this young feller

Always fun when these boys come up to shoot with me

Best one yet was me finally getting my Black Mallard when I was in Maryland hunting over a freezing up Chesapeake bay.

If I have to pick one, I'll have to go with 5 man limit of mallards and geese with 28ga's in 1.5 hours. Pretty decent shoot. I'll admit I was shaking my head at the plan that AM during set up saying it would never work. They proved me wrong. Most shots were less than 20 yards.

I must say that my most memorable hunt this season is probably my most memorable ever. It was Christmas morning about 10am. I was home in Pineville, LA for the holidays. It had been rainin that morning with more weather predicted for that afternoon. All of our gift opening was done and I kept staring out at the pond wishing I was on Catahoula Lake. Finally, I loaded up and headed out. I hunted a friends blind that was about a 3/4 mile walk through thigh deep water. As soon as I got in the blind, I had a Ringer come at me head on. Next two in the lineup were the Can and the Bill. It had been raining on and off and I had 3 birds in the bag after only 45 mins. The rain was beginning to pick up when I looked straight up and saw a Greenhead hovering high above. I thought about it then finally pulled up and dropped him. He landed just outside the dekes. I climbed out of the blind to fetch em when all hell broke loose. The water went from choppy to 2-3 ft rollers almost topping my waders. It was raining so hard that I had my hand over the back of my head and side of my face trying to stop the stinging. My duck was about 10 yds away and there was a small cypress about 5 yds away. I honestly considered going to the tree and hanging on till the storm passed. But I carried on and finally made it to my Christmas gift. I had never been through a storm anything close to that. After getting my bird, I decided to leave early with only 4 birds. I encountered 3 young guys on my way in that told me some of the blinds they saw on the way in were no longer there. When I got home, my family told me that a tornado had been reported on the lake. Then my stepmom told me that by the look on my face, I could probably confirm that report. All in all, I got my Mallard and my Can so that I could celebrate the holidays with the proper colors and I lived to tell about it.

My fav shoot of the season was an early Jan hunt near Gainesville with a buddy of mine from Dallas and one of his neighbors. We woke up and drove 2 hours and set out 18 dekes on a tank that I doubt was 1/8 acre in size. Right at legal, the boys started rolling in. In 7 mins we had a 3 man limit of Gads and Widgeons. It was a sight to see those birds fighting through our shots to try to reach the water. Even as we were in the water picking up dekes, birds were landing about 20ft from us. They wouldn't even fly off when they noticed us, they just swam to the other side. It was a fun shoot but, ended WAY too fast.
