Lets here some reports!

I went to my lease and saw a few deer, but only one nice buck at about 300 yards (he was out of bow range )!

Thats about it for me!

Here is the only picture I took!

Yea I see it on the other side of the ridge. You should have flung an arrow at it. What's your problem you don't have a 300 yard pin. Man there great they will save your season go get one.

Man all i saw was millions of skeeters! No deer or hogs. The acorns are falling and they must be someplace else or the skeeters sucked em dry!

Very weird activity for what my norm is, I going to guess it is because of all the natural browse. I felt like I was in East Texas, wait I take that back, atleast I saw a few just not at feeders

Hunted this morning only and saw 4 toms, 45 yds was as close as they got. I have been waiting to take a dandy ten point but he was a no show this morning. Cam pics had him Wed, Thur and Fri morning from 6:45 to 7:05 to 7:10 each of those three days. Yesterday stopped by at 6:08am, today was by at 5:30 am. He is a smart one I will probably have to catch him off guard during the week and ride into my area on a mountain bike to trip him up. Good news no one else saw him this weekend.
New hunter on the lease harvested a trophy 30 inch free range aoudad ram, he was pumped to say the least.

No deer, but jumped a big group of hogs on my way back this evening. I made a shot with my .357, and hit one but didn't could not find any blood. Hogs can run a pretty long ways on their back legs only though.

Saw 5 different deer between both days and all were 1 1/2 yr-old. Acorns are falling like rain and the browse is green. The smart deer are in the bush.

I hunted yesterday morning and this evening. First morning we had 2 bucks, with one being a 110 inch 5 year old that came to about 70 yards in the food plot, but left as the sun began to peek over the clouds.

Tonight we hunted and I had a coyote that never stopped for me to give him a shot, and had a corn thief (hog), who came in a little too late for me to shoot. I wish it was legal to carry your rifle in a stand while bowhunting!

I stayed at home, in the house. I saw 3 good sized does Sunday morning. One crossed the road in front of my house. From my kitchen window, I saw two more in a clearing near my feeder. I watched them for a while, then later saw them crossing the road at the same place the other on did.

My nephew went to the ranch. He shot a doe yesterday afternoon. He's got a lot of pictures of turkey at his feeder. He saw some, but they were too far to bow hunt.

Saturday morning the pigs showed up of course. Stuck a 50 pounder for the pit. Got too hot to sit Sat. afternoon. Took Sunday off except to check the feeder at 11 am and a Sika buck was standing under it looking for a kernel or two that the pigs missed. Back there this morning at 9 am and of course the pigs had already cleaned up so I set the feeder off and hunted till 11:45 when it got too hot in the ground blind. Sika was a no show but he'll be back.
Daughter is coming over from Kerrville for a few days so I'm going to set her in pig city in the morning to get her first bow kill.

SAT IN RIFLE STAND FRI EVE SAW A 4 AND A 6 PT BOTH 1 1/2.
SAT IN BOW STAND SAT A.M. WATCHED 6 COONS DEVOUR MY CORN... NO DEER.
SAT IN A NEW QUAD POD RIFLE STAND JUST TO SEE WHAT WAS COMMING, DISCOVERED NOTHING WAS GONNA COME AS BAD AS THE CHAIR SQUEAKED AND IF SOMETHING DID COME I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO SHOOT IT BECAUSE THE STAND WAS TURNED 1/4 TURN THE WRONG WAY. GOT THE STAND TURNED AND OILED THE CHAIR BUT LOOKING FOR A BETTER CHAIR SET UP.

AN OLD LESSON RELEARNED... IT PAYS TO GO SIT THE STAND BEFORE SEASON AND MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS RIGHT.

that night i sat in a tripod on the same feeder and had 4-5 bucks come in right at last light.

only saw deer at the neighbors feeder sat mornin. last night i had a spike come in but he wouldnt give me a shot. i also saw a nice buck walkin the fenceline at last light.

i saw deer every day just didnt get one. its great that season is open though and was awesome being out chasin whitetail.

Friday evening saw some deer driving around and then about 9pm had 2 game wardens come in and hangout for 2 hrs. Very nice guys and got some good info!

Sat morning:
Saw 4 does and 4 bucks. 1 6pt, 3 8pts

Sat.night Got alot of work done and made it back to my spot. 3 does late and one 6pt

Sun. Morning: I was the only one that got up and had a hell of hunt. I shot my doe 13 min after I got into the blind. Stayed a while and saw 9 different bucks. AWESOME..The smallest buck I saw sun. morn was a 1 1/2 6pt. I saw about 5 8pts and 2 nine pts and I think a great 10!
Sun night: Drove around and shot 2 1/2 boars. Dropped 2 and then one in the [censored]!

I only got to hunt one morning and one evening...had some issues with the girlfriend. LOL! Anyway sat morning i did take a shot with my bow at a huge bobcat. I have been hunting that land for 8 years and that was the first one I saw. I also had a doe come in real close. And then I heard a buck snorting at me. I had a grunt call that pissed him off I guess.

Sounds like yall had better luck than we did!

Most of the guys on our place saw very few deer and nothing at the feeders!

One guy did see a pretty nice 2.5 year old 10 point, but the really nice bucks were nowhere to be found!

I have no idea if the buck I saw at 300 yards was a shooter or not! All I know is he was a nice deer, but did not give me enough time to look him over real good!

Damn Joe sounds like you had a great time. Can you send one of those deer this way?

Sat in the stand on Sun evening. I saw 9, all doe and fawns.

Sat in satnd again Monday morning and I saw 17, again all doe and fawns.

We have a Boone and Crocket spike that has been hanging with this particular group of doe. Those doe showed but but Mr Spike was MIA.

All in all, I saw a LOT of deer but absolutely no bucks. Its ok though, because we a pretty nice 8pt(prolly 130") that is showing up at a feeder. Might not get him during bow season, but Deuce12 or I will nail him with a rifle if he makes that fatal mistake of showing up while we are there.

Too hot to hunt so I fished.

Hunting is more to me than Antlers on the wall. It's more about the memories you make, and sharing those memories with friends, and family.
