Bought this camera a couple of weeks ago, thought I would give you fellers a review so far. Camera has performed well IMO. It has a setting for 4mp and 8mp. All of these pics are with it set on 4mp. I get a little better night time pics with it set on 4mp. The 8mp at night was a little fuzzy but the daytime on 8mp were crystal clear.
Very easy to set up, comes with a good strap that holds the camera well. Battery life seems to be very good also.

So far I am pleased..

Give us a field report Stompy after a year. Hopefully Moultrie has fixed all of their display issues.

As for the display I learned if you put black tape on the out side over the display you wont have any issues the sun was eating them up.

I've been happy with mine as well but I only bought them about 5-6 months ago. Easy to set up and take good pics. However I bought mine because they were on sale for $29.99 for 8mp down from $149.99 and I got the same mini cam with blackout for $49.99 regularly $179.99....gotta love Academy.

I have had a couple M80's for about 2 years and have not had any trouble at all out of them. Great little cameras.

Yes, the window issue as concerns the display was fixed by covering the window. They have been doing this on several models for awhile.

We use solar panels on all of our cameras. On some of the new Moultrie cameras, including this one, you have to remove the external power (solar panel plug) in order to open the camera and get the card out. I don't like that.

I will also state that I have had far better luck (reliability) with these cameras by placing them in a box to shade them from the sun and rain.

I will agree on that dfw..... don't like that you have to unplug the external power source to get into the camera.

I got a good deal on the m-990 through Amazon. I'll be watching your updates. I gave up Moultrie for a while after having some issues with their cameras several years ago. So far so good.
