What is a really good (and simple) knife sharpener? I always seem to make my knives even more dull when I try to sharpen them.

Easiest idiot proof sharpener is the Warthog V-Sharp. As long as your knife isn't completely trashed they work great. It will run you about $100 or so, but worth every penny

I have both the warthog and the Lansky sharpener. The Warthog is good for putting an edge back on a knife but if you need to take a lot of metal off the Lansky works a lot better.

I have a Sharpmaker, and it works well. I got the diamond and the ultra fine rods for it on ebay. It works real well for me. For my convex edged blades I use a Worksharp sharpener which works great on knives you want a convex edge on.

Thanks,

Marty

I've been reading about easy to use knife sharpeners. I'm probably going to get a V Sharp warthog or the V Sharp Curve.

Anyone have the V Sharp Curve? It's much cheaper than the Warthog.

I have a diamond stone and a steel. Rarely use the stone, keep it sharp with the steel and never worry about it, don't take nothing to hit it a couple licks and get it back to razor sharp.

I have several Warthog Sharpeners and have given several away. They are the best IMO. They give you a constant angle, they do not wear your knife out and, they are extremely easy to use. I have 2 of the light weight ones in my packs for field use and 3 set up at home on marble. One is set up with diamond course, one with diamond medium, and one fine. They stay that way.

I really like mine.

A buddy of mine bought the curve and sent it back for the regular model. It's cheaper for a reason. Get the good one.

Accu-sharp. Works great and for $100, you can have one each for your truck, house, tackle box, and hunting cabin and still give away 6 as Christmas gifts!

Go to Northern Supply and get you a Worksharp. Greatest thing since slided bread. Love mine, and so do all my family members that I gave them too last Christmas. Superfast, idiot proof razor edges.

What is the difference between the Warthog Classic II and the XE?

They both look similar but the XE has more angles and cost less.

XE is plastic and feel cheap. Classic is metal and seems sturdy. They had both at the store where I bought mine so I got the Classic
