I know you can drill the hammer to lighten it. you can lighten the springs, you can remove full [censored]. [that is a funny censor] ok then remove the single action stop.

The production was apparently done by history.com. I suspect the narrator had no idea what "stripped down" meant, and I suspect that whoever wrote the script had no idea what it meant. "Stripped down" makes no sense...I can't think of any part you could omit or remove and still have full function. It's gobbledegook.

I think you are right. I could not think of anything you could do to process a S&W that would result in "a stripped down" pistol.

Someone not knowing guns probably substituted stripped down for basic. A basic model in a car is often referred to as a stripped down model.
