I am looking for an IR Illuminator to couple with a PVS-14. I would like to be able to reach out to 60-100 yards with it while pig hunting.
I have seen them from $20-$600. I dont want to break the bank on one since it is a limited use kind of thing but I am curious to see what everyone else is running and get some reviews.
Thanks in advance guys.

Get the one from TNVC and don't look back.

I have a Stream Light Super TAC IR that lights up to 200 yards on my Gen 1 ATN but I am convinced the hogs can see it. I am almost 100% certain racoons can see it. Same goes for the built in IR that came with it, hogs most likely see and react to it about 50% of the time. My Pulsar Digisight built in IR doesnt seem to be visible to them.

A lot of this will depend on your PVS-14. Do you have specs on it?

T100C2 MKII - IR (Infrared 850nm) 3.4w get the 18650 3400mah rechargeable batteries and auto/home charger . I have the pressure switch also, the batteries will work in flash lights and head lamps you can find cheap on ebay. Don't get cheap batteries or charger. The torch pro is nice because you can focus it but it uses cr123a batts that are expensive & its over $200. The eagle tac and batteries will set you back under $140.00 but endless use with 2 batteries and car charger. The batteries will power a head lamp or weapon mount flashlight all night for cleaning all the hogs you shoot using the same batteries.

If the OP thinks the hogs can see his Streamlight Supertac (850 nm) then he will think the hogs can see the T100C2 MKII - IR (Infrared 850nm) as well. The same goes for the Torch Pro or other lights that are weapon mountable. I don't know of any such lights that are completely invisible that would be battery operated, weapon mountable, and have much distance.
Yes, the hogs can see the glow at the light source. They can see 940 nm as well, but not quite as well and 940 does not broadcast as well for the same power as viewed by NV. They can't and don't see the beam that is shined, but will see a glow from the light.

Hey DNS -
The OP is just wanting to get a good illuminator, it was another poster who mentioned the hogs seeing his light.

Ah! Stupid tiny screen on cell phone, LOL. Then I would add that the EagleTac MK II makes a big, bright flood light sort of situation which can be difficult to use around foliage where you are apt to get too much light reflected back at you, but the Torch Pro allows you to narrow your beam considerably. The Streamlight has a lot of splash as well (based on what I have read). So, depending in circumstances, the extra expense of a narrow beamed light might be the way to go. If not, it should be pointed out that you don't have to run the Torch Pro on CR123 batteries. You buy the head and put it on a compatible P6 body such as from an inexpensive Solarforce or Ultrafire and you can save some bucks in the cost of the light and then use the 18650 batteries. The TNVC folks like to stick with the CR123 batteries because they claim they don't know if the 18650s are reliable enough (based on my email exchange with them) and also noted the light runs long enough on CR123s. It was rather hokey logic. With a PVS-14 for 60-100 yards? Here is your $20 IR light. It will do the job, but it will have a lot of splash as well, so not great for areas where you are doing with a lot of foliage between you and your target that will reflect back the IR light to the NV. http://www.amazon.com/Highly--Ultrafire-...s=ir+flashlightFor another $11, you can get 2 18650 batteries and a charger... http://www.amazon.com/Intsun%C2%AEUltraFire-3000mAh-Rechargeable-Battery-transport/dp/B00ABXYKV6/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1372883627&sr=8-2&keywords=18650+battery That should get you out beyond 80 yards just fine from ground level on open terrain, maybe a bit sketchy if you are using Gen II at 100 yards, but fine with Gen III. Since it is a 1" tube, a cheap picatinny scope ring mount will get it on the rail for another $10.

Find a used Surefire M1 for about $100, it'll work great out to about 100 yards.

Awesome advice guys!! I appreciate it.
It's a Gen 3 PVS-14. Ive got a few spots that are wide open 60-100 yrd shots and a couple bow blinds in the woods that I want to hunt so the Torch may be the best option since the beam is adjustable.
May take a another look at the T100C2 MKII - IR.
Thanks again guys!
I had another option reccomended as well. Have any of you guys run the cheap little 12v IR lights for security cameras mounted under the feeder? Seems like a logical (while cheap) solution. My only concern would be the follow ups with that. I would hate to be completely blind 20 yrds away from the feeder.

I just checked my XL250 Kill Light and it runs off of the 18650 batteries!!!
The only difference is the mA between the two. The ones on the EagleTac sight are 3100mAh and mine are 2400mAh. Would this make that much a difference in the burn time? I know I can get around 4 hours out of one with the XLR250.

You can buy whatever 18650 batteries you want to buy. Check the reviews. There is usually some anal retentive aficionado who has checked out the batteries and determined which are really the claimed mah or not. Most are not what is claimed. Just make sure you get one with the protected circuit.
