Hey everyone,

My name is James and this is my first time posting on this forum.

I have been looking at past threads on Winches and i have found some great information. However the Winch that i am thinking about purchasing is the PCW5000 from www.westcoastwinch.com and i cant seem to find any feedback from past threads.

has anyone used one of these before? any pros and cons that you could give to a guy before he decides whether or not to purchase?

thanks everyone, i will post and wait for you responses.

ps. tried to post a photo of the winch but it wouldn't let me.

I have no idea about the company, or the winch. What is the purpose of the winch that you need it to perform?

I don't know about that winch but I have a warn on my ranger that was pretty expensive. My dad bought a ranger and he put a viper trail winch on his for a whole lot less. I personally like my dads winch better because he has the synthetic cable. You might want to give them a look.

I've got a Warn on my ATV and I've used it quite a bit over the years. Like a lot of other things, you don't need it till you need it, and then you really do need it.

The viper winches work great and cost way less than a overrated warn.

Welcome. I also have never heard of those winches. I have always used Warn and it has never let me down. I know warn also makes one like that.

I have winches on four of my trucks and two of my trailers. All are Warn except 1, and that is a smittybuilt. It has broken once under warranty.
Warn has been solid and I have gone thru a few before I settled on these.

I even have Killers old Warn on my sons jeep. Still working good and the kid is hard on it.

I was expecting a report on his "date"... On a less interesting topic, Warn are good, some mayhave better warranties but that doesnt do any good until you are back home, never needed to findout about Warn's waranty.

A winch (either type) is not really something you want to skimp on, a bad winch can totally ruin your weekend (again, holds true for either type).
