I currently own land in oklahoma and pay property taxes on it..I've never hunted it. Question I have is, would I be required to buy an out of state hunting license considering my primary residence is texas? Perhaps with the deed I could get a oklahoma id and get an in state license?

Unless your rocking an Oklahoma drivers Lic ain't happening. I'm in the same boat... Trust me i spend about 1k a year in NR lic fees there Now if you ever get an okla dl go a head and buy a lifetime ASAP it's cheap for what it is. Still kicking myself for not buying one when they use to be 300 buck

Per season per species, deer= about 900 for all three Archery, ML, and gun. Small game(quail, rabbit pheasant) different licenses, bear, antelope, elk different licenses

Still kicking myself for not buying one when they use to be 300 buck There was once a non resident lifetime. I was going to buy one. Set money aside for a year, called and found they did away with it a few days before I called. But it only covered small game if bought as a non resident lifetime. Every member of my family does have OK lifetime fishing at least. It was only $250 each I think and it doubles as a lifetime legacy permit. They no longer sell the non resident lifetime fishing now too. There was or is a bill entered this year in OK that extended the time a person had to be a resident of OK before they could buy a lifetime license. And you could no longer only use a drivers license for proof. I guess people that never really moved there were getting an OK drivers license for just long enough to buy a lifetime. OK got smart on it.

Do not know what type of hunting you are going to do? Last I heard, rifle season for deer was only 2 weeks long.

Ya but bow season last a few months You can just buy a bow license and hunt with a bow all three seasons. But you will have to wear orange durning the gun seasons. For bow hunters Oklahoma is a hell of deal

If you have a Texas DL you have to buy an out of state license.

I have a Texas Lifetime, but it was a lot cheaper when I got it. I do think Texas is a bit high on theirs.
In Nebraska a non resident can buy a lifetime hunting license for $738.50. I do wish Nebraska was closer. But in Texas a resident has to pay $1000 now for a lifetime hunting in their own state. Sad when you can buy another state's lifetime for less money. But then there is Louisiana that offers a non resident lifetime for a whopping $3000!

I think the Louisiana lifetime is the only out of state lifetime that gives you the same exact benefits as an instate hunter and the $3000 and I think its Combo hunting and fishing but I could be wrong. The out of state lifetime license Oklahoma used to offer was $350(I think) but was only good for small game; you had to still buy the ungodly out of state deer and turkey tags. I figured since I have Oklahoma combo lifetime($775) why not get a Texas one.....$1,800.00! I'm sorry but I was born here and have lived here almost all my life and $1,800.00 is just flat out extortion!
