Started out with a blank disc.  Used horseshoes for handles.  Sandblasted the disc and rubbed olive oil on it so it wouldn't rust. That's a 12 inch plate. The disc is 22 inches.  It weighs 22 pounds  Seasoned it with hog lard for an hour.     The spoon was brand new.  Cooling off.

Look great Payne. I like the folding handles and matching burner set up. Where are you getting your disk blanks? Do you prefer the deep dish disk (scallope) over regular disk?

I got the blank from Kelly Mudd here in Hville, it was $40. The shoes from Tractor Supply they were $2 each. I should have used a larger diameter tube so the shoes won't heat up as much, it was bearable. I like the deeper disc for more volume. I seasoned for an hour and it holds heat well.

They had something like that one when I bought the blank. It was too shallow and it was pretty thin.
Mine is 3.75" deep and just under 1/4" thick.

I was going to try to make one from a used disc, but that would be MUCH easier, thanks for the info!
