I recently posted this in the "taxidermy" section but only got replies from taxidermist themselves. I am in Alaska but will be moving down south later this summer. I have a brown bear salted down at my local taxi but, I want to choose a taxi in the North Central Tx area to send my bear to and get it started. So, I won't be able to check out their work firsthand. Please, I need replies/advice from "customers" NOT taxidermy outfits. I am leaning toward using Damuth. Does anyone have a reason not to go that route? Better choice? Input from direct customers would be appreciated, thanks.

Might talk to Brian Travis at One for the Wall taxidermy in Springtown,TX. He did my Black bear, a couple of Elk and deer for me. The bear I had made into a rug and it is nice!

He has won several awards and is an official Safari Club scorer.

His shop is small, but the guy is a natural.

If your interested great guy to chat with

Aaron Austin Texas Wildlife Taxidermy in Keller has done several outstanding mounts for me.

I've used True Life Taxidermy out of Granbury (45 mins south of Fort Worth). Good work.

X2 for Aaron Austin, he has done several African mounts for a buddy of mine and does excellent work. He is in Keller not to far from the Cabelas in Ft. Worth.

I have always been happy with Ram Country in Burleson, Texas. I have had two WT shoulder mounts done there and a bobcat too. A guy I go to church with had a full black bear done by them recently. It looks great. Hope this helps.

Damuth is very good. We used them, and their work is top notch.
