Im not talking about your go to carry gun but which one means the most to you.

For me its a old mosberg 22 rifle. Im not even sure what the model is, my dad painted it black long ago before I got it and I cant make it out. But it has a tube mag and a 21 or 22in barrel. IT eats literally anything I put in it and loves stingers. Its sitting in my safe loaded with cci standards ( personal favorite bullet) with a dialed in sweet 22 on top. from 25-75 yards it will stack every round in the tube and make one small ragged hole. I love this gun, I got it from him a few years back in a trade and It will never leave my collection until my son or daughter decides they need it.

Ill post some pics of it later, maybe someone can help me identify the model so I can try and find a new stock for it lol.

An old beat up, worn out, Sear and Roebuck (Win 70) 30-06 that I inherited from my dad. It was the first deer rifle he ever bought. Bore looks like a gravel road, but it'll still shoot very good.

I'd have to go with a Savage 99E .308 that my grandpa got new in the early 60's. When he began to lose his eyesight a few years ago, he told me to go get it out of his cedar chest and then as I was leaving to go back home, he told me to look after it for him. That was the summer of '06 and that fall I took my best Antelope to date with it and at the time my best whitetail. If I had to sell everything, this is the one I'd keep with me.

There isn't just one.

I have several I inherited from my dad that I won't be separated from while I'm alive. I also have several given to me by one of my best friends that also will not leave my collection until I leave this life. They will ALL be passed down to my children.

They all have special meaning to me.

My grandfathers first gun that is now mine. A 1907 Stevens junior 22.

My dad has the same rifle he bought in 1975. It's still the rifle he hunts with every time. He has always wanted a thumbhole stock for it so I stole it out of his safe and put one on there for him. Gonna give it to him for Father's Day. My brother finished out the stock and it looks great. Gonna be pretty cool to see his reaction.

Remington Mod 14. Great grandfather won it in a turkey shoot and was my granddads go to deer rifle. Only have 10 rounds of .30 Rem, so I haven't shot it in 25 yrs.

I have several that were passed down by my grandfather, who died before I was born. My mom gave them to me once I was old enough. Of those, there's a 1906 Winchester .22 that is probably my favorite. Would never part with any of those guns. Of the guns I've bought for myself, I'm pretty stoked about my new Larue that arrived yesterday.

I guess mine would be the "old" Marlin 336 30/30 I got from an estate sale several years ago (about 30) from a little old lady whose 80 something husband passed away. She said she thought he'd only shot it a few times. When I opened the worn out gun case I found it and an old box of ammo with 10 rounds missing. Gun was never tapped for a scope mounts.

I tried to give her more than she was asking but she wouldn't take it. Just said she appreciated my honesty and since they didn't have any kids, hoped I would enjoy it. It's going to one of my grandkids....

Well the wife bought my a Glock 19 for my Birthday. That's one I'll never sell. Then I have my Grandfathers Remington 58. I'd say those two are the most important to me.

Mine is a well used, Citori 20 gauge that my dad passed to me. It is hands down my favorite shotgun. I have a like new Citori 12 and SBE and I never grab them ever over the 20.

This one isn't worth much but it was my granddads. Best I can tell its an antique british bulldog revolver.

Ruger 10/22 that I got for Christmas when I was a kid. My 6 year old son now shoots it.

Rem 700 and a model 11 16 gauge I inherited from my Grandpa when he died. I've had them for a decade and finally started hunting with them last year.

An old 16, double barrel that my great grandfather gave to me before he passed. I have never shot it, it just hangs proudly on my wall with a gun my uncle gave me before he passed.

When I was little, I used to go into my great grandfather’s room and take his Garand (WWII issue) and go out in a field and play with it. I know, bad idea but I was smart enough (I thought) to at least remove the ammo and clear the chamber.

When I grew up, they kept these from me as I was a very mischievous child.

He died one day, and I never thought anything about those guns as I was young (12). About 5 years ago (23 or 24 yrs old) I decided to ask about the guns that they kept from me. It was a bit awkward though I am now an adult (29) but I felt compelled to ask. I idolized my great grandfather and his morals and ethics. I really wanted his Garand, wanted to keep it so maybe one day I can teach my son with it as well as teach him responsibility, family history and a whole bunch of other neat things with a family heirloom.

Well, it turns out my uncle took possession of the rifle. He has a wife who has adult children who still act like children. They are bad people when it comes to morals and ethics...drugs, fraud...etc

I asked, "can I have it" to which I found out that my Uncles wife’ son had taken the rifle to the local pawn shop and pawned it for drugs...


To this day...I still hold hard feelings about this...how could you give something that means sooooo much, to someone who can’t even keep control of the people living with them? Why? I was a bad child but I always showed interest, took care of it and never did anything bad. I am an adult now; I just don’t understand how this came about.

My grandfather’s gun is gone, to some joker who will never even have an idea as to what they are holding. I just hope that it is taken care of, as this is all I can do. Don’t ever get rid of anything a family member has passed down. You never know what it means to someone else, if not to yourself

Three:

1)Winchester 94 .30-30 my Dad got in the 50s. All 3 of us boys killed our first deer with it;
2)Sako A5 Deluxe .270 I bought myself in 1979 with summer job money-I have killed 90% of my whitetails with it; and
3)Remington 700 .243 I got for Christmas in 1975. It is now my daughter's complete with carrying strap with her name on it.

Hearing all these stories makes me wish I had a chilhood/family history of shooting. I will definitely start my own lineage.

Mine is my first gun, a S&W 686 357. I almost hate shooting it because of the cost but I love it.

First deer rifle I ever got, model 7 243 win i recieved at 5. its had a rebarrel because I literally cashed the throat around 16 went from big hole groups to feet. Now its my wifes first deer rifle, hopefully will be our kids first one as well. Granddads model winchester 62, Nylon 66. I am hoping that one day I get the rest of his collection he has some awesome old 50's-70's sako's and some pre64's but a douche of a relative says they are his even though he is a liberal anti gun nut. he dislikes my dad and i enough to not even sell them at twice there value.

The single shot 410 my Grandfather got me when I was 7 to go dove hunting with him. Just a cheap single shot he picked up at Sears but has a ton of memories embedded in it.

My number 1 has to be my Pre-64 Winchester 94 .30/30 that my dad bought for me in 1967 or so. It's the only gun I've ever killed a deer with, with my first in 1967 when I was 13, and the last one a couple years ago when I was 56.
