 what animal do you NOT want to hunt in Texas?

Saw a post in the exotics section about Von Netzer's ranch and his wait on mouflon sheep which is 4-5 years according to the thread.
Got me thinking, If I was gonna have to wait that long, I'd go to Germany, Czech Republic,Spain, or another european country and try my luck.
Some species, such as Scimitar Oryx, Pierre david deer and Aoudad, don't have highly huntable numbers in their native habitat and thus texas is pretty much the last frontier for these guys. But other animals, like kudu,sable, axis deer, fallow, red stag, etc. are plentiful in their home country.
I don't have any desire to shoot a kudu or eland in texas, but I would in africa. I wouldn't hunt a fallow buck in texas but I would take a shot at one if I were hunting in Germany, Same goes for red stag.
What animals do you think are better harvested in their native lands rather than on ranches in Texas?
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

I wouldn't travel outside the USofA to hunt any of them. To much good stuff here to take a chance on traveling through parts of the world where too many of the people despise us.

I wouldn't travel outside the USofA to hunt any of them. To much good stuff here to take a chance on traveling through parts of the world where too many of the people despise us. take a look around. Plenty of people despise us here

I have no desire to kill any exotic in Texas unless it is wild elk out west.

I think hogs are better in their native range, African animals, sheep.....I'm really not an exotic fan, though I'll shoot them if I'm asked to.

I don't want to stir up a high fence debate. But to answer your question I have no desire to hunt any wild animal that lives within a captive fence.

Russcat, I felt that way until I hunted a 10,000 acre HF operation. those critters are plenty as wild as anything you'll find in the "wild".

I don't enjoy shooting anything I'm not going to eat. I don't really even care to shoot "trophy bucks".
I just want to shot the tastiest animal I can.

I have no desire to hunt Red Stag in Texas. Too many high-quality free-range animals elsewhere in the world.
I'd like to take a Kudu, Impala, and Lechwe in Africa some day. But I would have no problem taking a free range Gemsbok in West TX or New Mexico.

Nothing on any HF game ranch.
No exotics though I guess I would shoot one if it wandered up just for the meat.

I just want to shot the tastiest animal I can. I am guessng that you have never eaten oryx? So far the best tasting meat I have eaten. I wouldnt have a problem hunting any animal in Texas. I know it is not going to be the same as hunting in their natural habitat, but it can still be fun and rewarding. Matt
