Here's a few pictures of a boar I shot 2 weeks ago. Had several pictures of him coming to feed right at dusk as well as a few around 2145-2200 Hrs. I made it to stand around 1930 to set up and wait. He showed up just before dark. One shot from the AR with a handload 55 gr VMAX did the trick. Scale is hard to see, but it was right around 245 or so.

Thanks. That's my trusty bushmaster with the heavy barrel. I have several other ARs but I always end up taking that one. It's killed many hogs as well as deer, coyotes, raccoons etc. That VMax projectile is good for varmints but I wouldn't use it for deer unless you're head shooting. It pretty much explodes on impact. When I went to look at this boar's skull, the bullet shattered a lot of bone where it hit. I refilled feeders the other day so i'm sure i'll have some more hogs around soon. I'll post pics again when i drop another one.
