Weird, ours hang around after the big magnum sized KABOOM. The does may even go over and sniff of the flopping buck.

They get educated just like hogs with the sound o the "thwack" even from shooting subsonics.

I am sure most of us have shot a deer in the field and had other seem to hardly notice.. Older bucks seem to always head for the next county though.

Samething on this new place this past season. Shot only 3 deer but shot several coyotes and hog with deer around. The deer ran more times at the site of a coyote or hogs than from a rifle being shot. Shot 2 does with a ML and the rest of the deer just stood around.

I shot 3 bucks MLD one morning walking towards me. All were 6.5+ in age. There were 4 in the group walking along a road towards the tripod. Ranch was in South Texas and had a lot of older bucks that had very little shooting pressure till that season.

I would love to hunt with a suppressor, but it's not in the budget. I think it would be cool if only to save what's left of my hearing. I should wear earplugs while hunting, but I like to hear what's going on around me.
A fella at my gun club has let me put a few rounds through his suppressed .308, it was awesome!

From January of 2013, forward I will not hunt ANYTHING, with my rifle unsupressed, in Texas. Hearing the bullet hit my first animal is like crack. 300 yards, peewww.....THUMP. That is awesome!

Money and hassle aside, why wouldn't you hunt with a supressed gun?

I will be. In the offseason, I had my TBAC 30p-1 and my c3 defense .223 cans approved. I'll be shooting a suppressed 223ai with 75 amaxes at 3000fps.

I have been hunting supressed for 14 years.

That's how our place is in the off season and beginning of the season. I have shot a lot of hogs and the deer that are there never run off. I have also shot several deer that had other deer less than 5 yards away from them, the others just picked up their heads and looked around for a minute and then went back to eating.

Late season is a different story most of the time for us.

I will be hunting with subsonic ammo. It's a 458 Socom so the 405 grain soft point still hits very hard at 1000 fps.
