I built a decent sized pen to keep hogs and cows off my corn, and it has been a well spent effort hogs are gone from camera and the cows don't bother...but had an interesting visitor inside the pen on camera.

Have been getting lots of raccoons as expected, so I put up a varmint guard, I hope that helps with the coons. In one of my pics I had a coyote standing right next to my feeder, well inside the pen. I looked around and saw no evidence of him getting under the fence, and no way he got through the fence. Wondering if anyone has seen a coyote climb a fence?

Yes. The tighter the fence the better they can climb. They can also jump pretty good.

They are pretty good climbers and jumpers.


Watched one running wide open jump over a 5' six strand barbed wire fence many years ago...never even slowed down.

My male Border Collie was going crazy barkin' the other evening. I walked over to our gate and there was a BIG Coyote that ran off. We just lost a large cat, de-clawed, from the same backyard. She was really obese. She just vanished when we were out of town. We thought she might have been picked up by a Barn owl. Sad deal.

I am hoping to put the whallop on some this weekend!

Found a dead cow on the lease so there seems to be a varmint problem...

I had a great pyr that would climb a fence, so I wouldn't be suprised a coyote would.

My wife had a pomeranian that would climb a cow panel fence so I don't see why a coyote couldn't

I've seen a few that have tried but didn't quite make it. They turn themselves into a nice trophy hanging there on the fence like that

Not sure how tall your fence is but I have seen a coyote trotting across a field and jump on top of a big round bail of hay. I would equate that to most fence heights so I assume the yote could have quite possibly just jumped the fence if he wanted in bad enough.

I've seen them climb 10 foot high fence. Course a few got hung up and died too!

Sometimes they don't make it all the way! He had been raiding our goat pasture and it caught upwith him.

A fat cat with no claws living outside is an easy treat for a yote

I have seen it twice on a high fence in the corners. If they are determined enough they will attempt it.

Not much surprises me with the yoties, they are very adaptive to the obstacles we put in their way.....until they make that one little mistake!! GOTCHA!! Good pics!!!
