I was reading a copy of North American Hunter and one of the suggestions of the author was to discard your carbon arrow after it has been used to kill an animal. Is this common practice? I always assumed that if it didn't have any visible damage it was good to shoot again. Just thought I would get some of yall's thoughts on this.

What is the point in that? I know guys that have killed several deer with the same arrow. Looking forward to input on this one.

I shoot mine until they get cracked. Never had an issue with shooting multiple animals with the same arrow.

I always put the tag on my arrow and hang it on a rack in the garage. As a reminder.

I will always do a visual check and then it will shoot it every time I am shooting to make sure it is flying straight. If it is still flying well then it goes back in the quiver, if not then it goes into the target bucket for teaching friends and family.

Mine retire. Nothing wrong with the arrow just that arrow belongs to that animal after I take his lifeforce.

I'd kill as many as I can with the same arrow. I don't think the critters mind.

I always reuse mine. They just want you to buy more arrows to help their sponsors.

I will give it a flex check and see if anything is splintered. If not, reuse it. I don't think I have ever "retired" a good arrow but I understand the thoughts of doing so after having a successful kill.

I kept my first arrow that I ever killed anything with(hog), and I will keep every arrow that I kill a buck with that way I can keep it with the Euro or shoulder mount. Other than that I will reuse them.

I shoot mine until the break or I can't find them. With the price of things these days who can afford not to.
Hunting is more to me than Antlers on the wall. It's more about the memories you make, and sharing those memories with friends, and family.

I reuse mine all the time.. I have a few for predators only. These arrows I dont clean all that well..But for hogs and other game animals..I check them for wear and tear then clean them with hot soapy water. Everything I plan to use on an animal that I plan to eat gets a good scrub down.
