There used to be a black man that wore dresses and would lay around the downtown square in Greenville, TX. His name was Lionel if I remember correctly. He was a large man. I would guess him to be well over 6' tall and about 300 lbs. Many times he would have a full beard and would literally lay on the sidewalk smoking a cigar, like he was posing for a photographer. He was quite the novelty from some time in the 1960's all the way up to the early 1980's...The last time I remember seeing him personally was around 1983 or so. He was as unique as I had ever seen for the time.

Ive seen that guy. Always going East on Campbell. Real nice guy. Saw him helping the ducks one time by the two ponds.

He wouldn't even stand out in Wal Mart after 9:00pm around here. I have lots of pics from late night runs at the Mineral Wells Wal Mart.
