Got an opportunity to pickup a low round count, about 40 rounds as claimed by owner SA Loaded model MA9822 M1A.
Has chrome molly, carbon steel barrel and is in factory synthetic stock.
Don't know if parts are SA,GI or a mix.

Comes with 2 thermold 20 round mags,1 steel 20 & 1 steel 10 round
mag.

Also 400 rounds Israel 7.62x51 ammo

All for $1500

Might go for it if he can meet me halfway
between Wylie and Spring Tx.

What do ya'll think....Pickup or Pass.

PM me with your input and thoughts if you like.Would really appreciate it.

Doug

Not a bad deal IMO if I had spare cash around I'd probably go for it

Sounds like an outstanding price for that setup. That said, if I want a 308 repeater these days, I think the AR10 platform is the way to go, at least as far as performance/accuracy goes.

That said, the M1A is nostalgic for obvious reasons, so if you want one...go for it!

I like the M1A and that sounds like a good price to me, especially with ammo thrown in. If it has GI parts, then its definitely worthwhile.

Thanks for the helpful and encouraging posts guys,I do appreciate it.The owner of the rifle should be able to get some pics tonight so I'll know more about the parts content of the ol'
M1A.

If we can reach a comfort zone on it,looks like it will come home with me next weekend. Will keep you posted on how it goes.

Thanks Again Everybody
Doug

I have had my M1A NM for about a year, it is a very fun rifle to shoot. I mostly use mine as an iron sites gun, if you want to scope it look into Basset Machine scope mount (in my opinion the best scope mounts for M1A at any price) they usually cost about $100 and they are super quick to put on and take off and return to zero every time. Keep in mind that these rifles are for the most part old school military and a raging pain in the neck to clean because of all the parts you need to break down, and it also needs to be greased in several locations. Check these links to get an idea of what all this entales http://www.youtube.com/user/tonyben3/videos Overall I think the price is right and it is a great rifle.

Lots of good info here. My understanding is they can be a booger bear to make shoot sub MOA. That said I still want one for myself.

OP, go for it!

I've got one in a Sage EBR with a MKIV scope and one scout
rifle in a Bulldog 762 setup with a VXR on it. Love them
both. X2 on the Bassett mounts but I haven't found one for
$100. I'd buy the rifle if I had the funds. Let us know.
