This is the most bogus thing that has come down outside of DC. Father of the mass murderer in Newtown works at GE Capital. Gets some guilt off of him for not dealing with his whacked-out son. Gets Jeff Immelt, CEO of GE Capital, some brownie points with Obama, his buddy. And do you think they are going to stop lending to Walmart? No way. Only stopping lending to the small gun shop owner. Who, by the way, doesn't work with GE Capital, anyway. GE Capital headquarters, by the way, is next to Newtown. These people are sleazes.

A perfect opportunity for someone else to step in and become the lender. Yup. Let the market decide. GE seems to think they are "too big to defy" and apparently think they can influence public policy by using their business as a blunt instrument. Socialism or Capitalism? Can't have it both ways.

FWIW, in the business section of last Sunday's Dallas Morning News, GE Capital had a 1/2-page advert proclaiming their desire to serve Texans.
