Found some at a local gun show and I expected high prices but good God! The federal value packs that you can find on occasion for 20-30 bucks were priced at $85!
Again, I was expecting high prices, but not quite that bad. I made an offer for 2 bricks at $100 hoping for the best and he said he would do $150.
Again I expected high prices but not unreasonable.

Thanks,
Olen

The only places that I have found fair price .22 ammo is at Cabelas, Bass Pro Shops and Academy. also at Wal Mart when they have it which is seldom around here.

Bass Pro had a 525 rd. brick last week for $ 22.35. There are good deals out there. Just stay away from the gougers and hopefully price will return to normal.

Went to Academy today looking for some .22......No Joy!!!

Guy behind the counter told me people are still showing up at 6:00am waiting for the store to open at 8:00am just to buy ammo.......ARRRRGGGGG!!!

I thought the insanity was coming to an end???

Looks like people still aren't learning. Like jdk said, it appears that it's gonna take some time. It also looks like there may be a glut of .22 ammo coming on the secondary market once things die down.

I got to the Academy in Katy at 8 this morning. They must have started with 40 boxes of 500 rounds. When I got mine there were 3 left and the lines at the registers were long. Everyone had a box of 22. They also had 100 boxes of 50 rounds.

they need to start putting it out at different times of the day instead of before the store opens to throw these hacks off. 10, 12, 2, etc. it will sell just not to these morons.

It will not get better until people quit flipping it, and that will not stop until people quit buying from the flippers.
Im sick of seeing the same guys at Wal-Mart each delivery day waiting hours for ammo.

if your in houston ill help you get some only if its for you. i picked up 2 boxes today but those are going to friends who have been desperate for them tonight. no fees added on but if you resell it for a single penny higher than what it says on the receipt i will never help you again even after the stupidity is over. all the turds who are reselling to their brothers to make profit in their time of need ... will get theirs when they need help getting something after this is over.

I have some for 7.00 a box of 50, is it a little high yes but listen I haven't been able to get any for three months and I am a gun dealer and this is how I get fed, I have no way of knowing when I can get more or how or the price. Just like with guns once one sold I had no way to replace it, I still have bills to pay ect so its not price gouging is simple supply and demand. I have brass load 223 for 15 buck and ars for 850 ect but what know one seems to understand that the little guns shop make their money from their inventory and if we have no inventory we don't get paid period

gun dealer/business buys legally to resell. buying as a non dealer to resale while evading taxes and gouging is actually a crime. though as a dealer there is still laws that block what is price gouging. after ike I made good money on several cases to track gougers to bring them to court that ended up in tens of thousands in fines for illegal supply/demand price increases that ended up being turned over for federal tax cases after that over generator reselling at "supply and demand" prices. not to mention were giving a government against gun owners a reason to point to us as a black market problem.

Guns and ammo are not a necessity, I didn't see one buyer ever force into buying a gun or ammo at any price!!! People had the option to buy guns and ammo FOREVER!!!! And if you didn't buy what you needed than, don't blame the sellers!!!Do You know how many people have walked into a gun shop and than walked out without buying anything when there was plenty of stuff to buy before any off this happened?? A natural disaster like IKE and the gun business are WAY far apart, with all due respect this was not a natural disaster! It was simple OH GOSH I THINK I BETTER GO SPEND SOME STUPID MONEY CAUSE EVERYONE ELSE IS, DONT WANT MY FRIEND TO HAVE MORE THAN ME!! JMHOP!

The Gun Shows here have them for $15 a box or $150 a carton and I
think the Gun Club is $8.50 a box..but they went to $47 a box for
hardball 45 ACP, same ammo I was paying $10, then $24...my buddy in NW Arksansas called and asked for some without ever realizing
how much it was so I took his son a carton of 22 LR and 45 ACP..
tight as my buddy is he'd have a fit if he knew what it would costs him now..DD

Went to Academy Friday, looking for some 9mm and brought the wife about 30 minutes before the store opened, They had about 50 boxes of 22LR bulk boxes at $19.99 and was able to get one and the wife bought a second. Didn't get any 9mm but I was glad I brought the wife to get a second box of 22lr, I normally hate taking her shopping but was glad that day.
