my input is dated to the point im not sure how relevant it would be. bought 8 cams with full system 6 years ago. stunning pics, better than reconyx or anything. did have major issues with them performing as far as transimitting pics back to the house however. we did have major elevantion changes on our place and some very thick woods, but i coudnt get them to perform up to spec as far as wireless transmisson. ran them stand alone the last few years am just considering removing them from service this year for something shiny and new. there customer service btw is absolutely first rate.

Problem will be with any of those systems is the signal strength. They can get costly really quick if you have lots of non-target animals that trigger cams to take pics.

stx...there is no per pic fee.
If you'd like more information contact me, I've personally used them for 7 years and have set up systems all over Texas and sold all over the U.S.

their new system that came out end of last year interests me. I haven't tried it, but design seems more modern than the competitors. I have used both Moultrie and Smart Scouter for internet game cameras. Moultrie works when it works, not reliable and customer service is the worst. Smart Scouter is durable, reliable, and awesome customer service. Only problem with Smart Scouter it is a 6-8 year old designed system bulky. I want to try Buckeye now.

What I am refering to is that if you are getting 1000 pics per week of birds, does, fawns, coons, turkey, etc then you have to have a package that covers lots of data.

Buckeye Cam's web site isn't the most helpful but if you look at the manual http://www.buckeyecam.com/main/Files/x7d_manual_v1.pdf it is. If you have a base camp with a computer and internet connection it's basically free. If you have to have a cell base and pay for a data plan it can get expensive.
for every stereotype there's a prototype don't be the prototype

So either you pay up front or pay later?

I've been pleased with the Covert Special Ops. its different from buckeye in that it is a single camera cellular system -- very similar to Rob Lays Smart Scouter-- but I like that it texts (or emails) me pics instead of using a web portal. . Has settings where you can limit the number of pics it sends per day and you can set it to not send pics during certain times of day. Booster antenna avail for areas with weak signals.
You can buy a text only feature package from ATT for 1000 messages/month for 9.99 or unlimited for 19.99/mo. It can add up quick if your not careful.

expensive is relative. if your land is close, you go there often, and you don't have many security concerns then it might be expensive. if your land is farther away, you are using cams for security too, and you want to be able go hunt when movement picks up then I say it is priceless. Expect to pay about $30-70 a month each camera.
Buckeye could be very very cheap if you were close enough to run all cameras off base connected to internet. I have always had to use cellular each camera though.

If you are using ATT and not on an unlimited message plan, once you go over the 1000 message/month mark they jack the rate up to $.10 per pic. It'll drain the funds out of your account pretty dang quick.
The knucklehead at ATT who helpd me set my up said that he did it with the unlimited plan -- lo and behold I figured out that wasnt the case when my camera stopped sending me pics. I checked the account online -- saw that i was in fact on the 1000/message plan and I had burned thru my $100 balance in no time flat.
