The girlfriend and i got out to a farm pond today. We ended up with 34 bluegills and 3 nice crappies, all caught on nightcrawlers!

Those are bluegills,lol we dont have many yellow perch in southern Iowa

Yep you cant beat bluegill or crappies for eating. I caught these for a buddy that is having a fish fry for his sons graduation.

Good job, great eating. Caught a ton of Bluegill when I was a kid, used nothing but crickets.

I don't eat them often, but fried whole perch on the bone has got to be some of the best fish I have ever eaten!

Was they in the shallows ? Yesterday still saw a lot of perch on spawning beds here around the metroplex

And looks like some good eating .. Some people will swear the perch are even better than crappie to eat
