Just got a new to me 07 F150 Lariat. More I drive and use it the more happy I am with the truck. So now I am looking to tailor it some. So the question is What do yall have on your trucks, and what do you recommend? Especially interested in budget friendly mods.

So far Ive done the Gotts mod to my intake,
Custom underseat storage similar to a DuHa
Custom subwoofer mount builtinto the bottom(underside)of the back seat
A lockbox/gunsafe under the front passenger seat.
Smoked taillights and bed light

Planned possible mods. Your thoughts?

Installing a power inverter with the plug and stitch on the passenger side of the central console(next to where a passengers left calf is)or replacing the outlet in the center console(cigarette lighter)
Thinking to make or buy a bed drawer similar to a Ratpack.
Possibly bed storage for one side of the bed that tucks between the fender and tailgate
Possibly adding electric cooling and leds to the cupholders similar to whats in the new Platinum F150s
LEDs to the center console storage
LED lighting in the bed mounted under the edges of the bed where its out of the way. Think this is worth the trouble?
Color matching the air box and other pieces under the hood?

Any ideas where to move the jack from under the backseat so I have more underseat storage?

I replaced the OEM plastic bumpers with Buckstop bumpers front and rear, replaced the OEM 16x6.5 rims with American Racing 17x8s , added Hoop steps (I recently installed bigger Hoop steps), low-profile across bed tool box and an Amp Research bed step on my Silverado 2500. The bumpers were not exactly budget friendly.

2005 F-250 155,000 miles with a few mods: Appearance: Iron Bull bumper, PIAA lights, KC lights, 12K winch, Amp steps, 36x15.5x18 wheels, 5.5" lift, custom traction blocks, smoked recon lights, 7 gallon air tank with 100% duty air compressor for on board air and train horns and low pro tool box, autometer gauges to keep an eye on engine while towing and marathon seat covers B&W turnover ball with 5th wheel companion. Performance wise: liberator performance o-ringed heads, stage 1 fuel system, custom ECM, custom FICM, SCT tuner with custom tunes, intake, exhaust. Got a few more things in the plans for it, but right now she runs like a scalded ape and I don't want to change anything.

get a 2"-3" lift on the front and put a add-a-leaf to the back. I just put blocks in the rear and I have regretted it since day one. It is hard to add the weight brought on by a full replacement bumper to a half ton, but i'm currently looking for the non-replacement ranchhand bumper for my gmc now that people are getting rid of them. Maybe one day I can justify getting a 3/4 ton and put a full replacement bumper on it. I like the idea of putting strip lights in the bed under the rails. let me know how you do it and i might have to as well.

About to put a 6" lift and some wheels and tires on mine. Then full replacement bumpers, winch, lockers, roof rack, sliders, and a bunch of smaller things to help me get where I want to go.

Those smoked taillights might not be legal. Better check and see if they are DOT approved. If not, it could cost you. Besides it'll make you rolling probable cause.

In my case I used a spray tint on my tail lights and 3rd brake light/bed light. Bearly darkened my actual taillights, just enough so that they are more burgundy(think the dark red on a dr pepper can)and replaced my normal brake/turn signal bulbs with brighter leds. Mostly I had to do something about the 3rd brakelight as it was the only white/chrome thing on my truck and was driving me crazy(have no idea what ford was thinking). Initially I had planned to just tint the bed light about equal with my front windows but ended up taping off the bed light/bacl up section and tinting the rest so that it matched my taillights. Over all I couldn't be happier. Especially since it only cost me about $15 and less than an hour.

Still, that's most likely illegal. USDOT sets standards for lighting on vehicles. Manufacturers equip the vehicles with lights and lenses that meet those requirements. Once altered or exchanged with equipment that is not DOT approved you will be in violation.

Do what you want but understand that the "smoked" lens fad is lending itself well to giving LE probable cause to stop.

I've got a 5 inch exhaust, Ranch Hands front and back, EGR delete, cold air intake and a 6 position tuner on my 6.7 Powerstroke.

Cranderson, what sort of economy do you get from your truck with tunrr and everything?

Out on the highway driving 75+ with no trailer I get 21-23... with a trailer it goes down to about 14-15. I'm about to put bigger injectors and a new turbo, it should go up a little more then.

Spartan tuner 200hp warhammer tune, 5" exhaust, EGR delete, S&B CAI, Ranch hand Front replacement with winch, B&W Turnover Gooseneck with 5th wheel, and BFG ATS. Next is a 2.5" lift Some nice black rims and rear Ranchhand. Next year will be Industrial Injections Twin Turbo setup.

What tuner are you running?

HA! Same here. After sorting through all this hoo-rah, I'm ashamed to even drive my stock F-150 out of the garage!

My wife says that our love of trucks is just a grown-up little boy's fixation with his red wagon. And boys will have their toys!

We are working on building up our new 6.7 shop truck now and get about the same he does. But all that will change soon.




Don't count on it. We do a LOT of injector and turbo swaps. While you should get the same and maybe a little more, you will most likely loose mpg..... cause you will won't be able to keep your foot out of the skinny pedal!!! hahahahaha



Most likely H&S. At least that is what i would guess.

H&S... So far so good. I've had a couple of them, no problems!
