Preview of the new Triple Crown three barreled shotgun by Chiappa. I like it...many of you won't. I'm not going to go out and get one or anything but I think it's a cool idea. This video is not the best but you'll get the idea.

I believe there was an old english gun maker who made a 3 barreled shotgun before. Dont remember who it was though.

Yeah if you watch the video they say the idea is not new but this is the first modern one. Also before they had the two barrels up top and the single below...they flipped it for a better sight plain...makes sense.

I bet since it is like 8 lbs 7 oz it will be a soft shooter vs most lighter doubles. THis heavier weight won't matter for some hunting but it would not be a good upland gun. Duck, dove, clays it would be fine...although most clay set ups you are only shooting 2 shots max anyway.

When I was in my early 20s a gun was given to me by the widow of a fella my dad used to work with. It was a German Drilling and had a pair of 16 ga shotgun barrels over a center fire rifle barrel on the bottom. It was a beautiful gun, exquisitely checkered and lightly engraved. It was also heavy as heck, around 9-1/2 lbs as I recall, and kicked like a freaking mule. I traded that for a Model 12 that I just sold this year, a 1952 Heavy Duck.

There are a number of Drillings for sale here >>> http://www.gunsamerica.com/Search/Category/241/Guns/Shotguns/Drilling-Combo-Shotgun-Rifle-Combos.htm

Cappy ... At my side for thirteen years, in my heart forever.

My speakers on my comp at work are jacked up so I didn't have sound when I watched it. The one I seen had the barrels in a row.

I think its a pretty neat idea still.
