Was wondering if hunting was allowed and if anyone was looking for someone to hunt with?

By permit only. I have struck out there too many times. My area is really bad at Whitney.

Welcome to the THF! I'm sure some of the duck experts will chime in here. Good folk with good info.

Well my area isn't worth hunting. I will give you an exact map, because it is worthless. It was the only area I knew while in college, so I hunted it. In all of college, I only got my limit once. Other areas may be better, but I don't know.

For a permit, you need to have taken hunter safety class. Then go to their lake office and fill out a short form and a waiver. They will give it to you then. Here is some info: http://whitneylakehunting.tamu.edu/

Good luck and PM me if you actually find birds.

You may be able to get your permit online. I was able to get my permit online this year off the Lake Whitney website, but I had a permit last year and you have to input your hunting license # and your hunter safety #. You fill out all the info, submit it, and then you print your permit card and vehicle card.

Well did you find anything?

My father lives in Lakeside Village just off the lake. I was down there for Thanksgiving and heard lots of shooting. Don't know if they got anything but I would hope so for all the noise.

I have hunted down there from Steiner Valley to LakeSide Village and further up the river....also in the Nolan near Blum.....some good days, some bad days.....this was years ago, but we always put in by boat and traveled a ways.

Looking to buy or sell Real Estate anywhere? Let me know, I can help. Just email me steven.bradbury@cbdfw.com

THERE WERE TONS OF DUCKS AROUND THE NOLAN LAST FRIDAY BEFORE THE FRONT. HEARD LOTS OF SHOTS. SAW OVER 300+ FLYING AROUND ON FRIDAY. LOTS OF BIG ACORNS, I GUESS OFF LIVE OAKS. NOW HAVE DUCKS IN FREEZER, THOUGH. CAN'T WAIT UNTIL SEASON STARTS BACK UP AGAIN.
