I hit this guy while driving to my turkey spot today. Turned around to get a better look. Smashed his little guts out.  Felt bad for him so I finished him off with a rock to the face.

100% copperhead! Looks like a Transpecos copperhead. Beautiful creatures but very aggressive and dangerous bites. Looks like you won

Beautiful snake, well when his guts are on the inside. I tried to swerve and miss him so I could get some pics but I guess I was driving a little too fast.

Glad lil Sapper wasn't out and nearby!!! Ive never heard this. I've seen em of all sizes with the green tip. Now I wonder, gonna have to do some research.

They use the green tip to wiggle to attract prey. Green tip mostly in juveniles up to 4 years of age.

This one was on a road with no real water sources for atleast a mile.

When I lived in East Texas twice I hooked Copperheads swimming across my 5 acre pond. In the spring I used to drive the oil top roads around sundown ( Cass county ) and it wasn't unusual to see anywhere from 2 to 10 Copperheads ( not in one spot ) laying on the roads getting warm.

Usually, when I see a copperhead, it is near the vacinity of water...but not always.
