How do you Handel a guy who smokes pot like cigarettes while at the camp house?!?!?!?!?!?! Just ran into this problem today, hunted here for years.

Invite the Game Warden over....

Evidently that has become a pretty wide spread problem across the state over the past couple of years.

In every issue of the Lone Star Outdoor News, in the Game Warden Blotter section, there are 2 or more incidents reported concerning outdoorsm,an and drug useage.

Your biggest worry, or yours and the other folks that are hunting the place with this guy is Guilt By Association.

Should for whatever reason, a GW come into your camp and suspicion that someone was using drugs, everyone there would have a long, bad, day/weekend.

Don't know what the whole situation is and what part this guy oplays in your set up, but I would be finding some way to get him off the place, or to get him to quit the wacky tabbaccy when on the place. JMO.

Knock the THC out of him, steel his reefer, and climb in the sack with his old lady...

The guy is kinda new 3rd year. Ima have a lil talk with him Saturday. Might just tell him to hit the road, Its my GPaws land and this guy is Distant fam from some side.

In that case you may have to handle that situation with kid's gloves. There's been many a family squabble turned nasty over hunting leases/camps "in the family".

I would get the members together and have a vote on it. You can tell him beforehand that you're planning the meeting, let him be part of it. But, imo, if you let it go on too long, it'll be real hard to fix.

Then we have Plan 9 From Outer Space!!!!

Since this guy is family, all of you that know about the situation, take it up with the family elders.

That way it might look more like those of you that are concerned, are more worried about the effects of the guy getting caught on the place with the weed, would have on the whole family.

Might be able to forego a lot of stress if some of the older folks in the family know what is going on. AJMO.

Depending on what you do for a living....like in my case as an educator I would either leave or he would...can't be any plainer than that. I know "it's just weed" etc....but its illegal and being associated with it for a professional could change your career, family structure and lifestyle....

Leave or I call the law at my lease/camp.

Agreed, especially if you are worried about a family squabble. Don't say a word, just place an anonymous call to the GW when you know he is partaking.

Bet the GW will solve the issue for you.

Just tell him to take it outside or else. If you don't see it, and don't smell it, the only problem is his.

I would not worry about being a Rat, I would worry more about the fact, that in the more rural counties, everyone that is in camp with Wonder Boy if the GW and local LEO come by because they have a suspicion of drug use, is gonna have a really bad day.

Just from what I have been seeing over the past couple of years, alcohol in camp is one thing.

The slightest possibility of there being pot or Recreational Pharmecuiticals in camp elicits a whole different reaction from the Law and Order side of the situation. JMO

Maybe your camps are different than mine, but there is no place for drugs where my kids and family are!

There should also never be drugs around guns that are available in hunting camp.

If you want to smoke your stuff, your house is your castle. Bring it in public, don't get upset when people acutely respect the law.

I will tell you this, smoke that around me, and you are all good, smoke it at deer camp where my kids and or guns are around we have a problem.

Sounds like to me, there needs to be an intervention. The fact that he is even smoking it at all would throw up all kinds of red flags to me and he is smoking them like cigarettes??

This guy has some serious issues and don't let anyone tell you there is no harm in it!

It would really just tick me off that he is not showing any respect to other hunters. Like previously mentioned, if he gets busted, you all may get busted. If he is that messed up to be smoking all that pot, then you can bet he is not going to "man up" when the LEO's show up and want to know who's dope that is. All you guys might get busted.

And, do you really want to be around someone who is high all day and has a gun??

I wouldn't have any issues on getting that guy out of there until he cleans up his act.

For sure don't let this guy ride in your vehicle for he will probably be stuffing the dope somewhere in the truck when and if you get pulled over, now it's your baby. For that matter, I wouldn't let him drive me anywhere either.

Yep, I would definitely have a talk with him about not only stop smoking it at camp, but he needs to stop completely. You might just be the one who does him a favor. I have never seen anything, but bad things come out dope.

Since it's a family place I would kick his a$$ right out of the gate and make sure everyone in the family knows about it, and what a sorry POS he is. That is disrespectful to every one in your family, especially the ones that own the land and put in the time and effort to keep it in the family. Family land and deer leases are WAY different IMO and if I ever caught someone doing that on our place...it wouldn't end well, for them.
