It is a Weatherby Vanguard in an Axiom stock. Same parts, same manufacturer. No one I know who has one doesn't like it. Not alot of aftermarket parts, maybe a deal breaker for those who have to "fix" whatever they buy. Not as common for new barrels, may be tougher to find a 'smith to change it out.
Notice no where do I say don't buy it? I like Savage, some wouldn't even use one for a fence post. If you like it, buy it. I'm sure you'll be happy.

It is Howa that makes the Weatherbys.

anyway, great guns, made better than a Rem, for all practical purposes.
just expensive in that configuration.

The Mark V is a different action. The Vanguard is the Howa's twin.

I own several howa's and weatherby vanguards, great shooters, hands down, i have several remingtons, rugers, savages, marlins, interarms (old howa's) they all shoot good, the mechineing for the barelled action is far better on howas and vanguards. when i grab one it always seems to be the howa or vanguard, i know what they will do, its jsut weather or not i can do my part any more.

hope you enjoy it, if you get one.
