Well it looks like it is being shot down by one guy, we all need to let him know that it shouldn't be the decision of one person, WE DESERVE A VOTE texas
Everyone needs to call Joe Pickett and let him know !!!!
Here are two emails I got today

email #1

Joe Pickett, El Paso TX; Democrat, Real Estate Broker: Joe Pickett refused to tell citizens where he stands on any of the issues addressed in the 2012 Political Courage Test, despite repeated requests from Vote Smart, national media, and prominent political leaders.

Speaker Joe Straus Republican (really?)

Heidi Thiess has my Vote! She should be our Next Speaker.

Remember the names come to re-election time.

email #2

Good Afternoon-

I regret to inform everyone who is following HB 700 that Rep. Joe Pickett will not bring this crucial and important piece of legislation up for a vote.

It is truly a sad time for supporters of the second amendment as well as CHL holders of Texas.

We appreciate all of the hard work and support.

Please take the time and voice your displeasure to Rep. Joe Pickett-(512) 463-0596 and Speaker Joe Straus-(512) 463-1000.

Sincerely,

Noah Gilliam

I just got a reply to a email I sent to Ricardo Ramirez
My email to him
(This is unacceptable, something like this deserves a vote, It shouldn't be the decision of one person. Who does he think he is ?? GOD ?? There has got to be something we can do to get this bill to a vote, Please let me know what we the people can do to help)

Sorry for the email blast, so FYI on HB700 if you want to act. Or just delete.

The last remaining strategy to get Pickett to change his mind would be to nicely encourage people in El Paso, especially veterans groups to call Pickett and Pickett's closest friends who are all Reps in El Paso. Pickett's voting district is mainly the military base. Please read the attached in that this bill maybe the only way to change the US wide tide towards tighter gun restrictions (which would hit veterans the most after PTSD or people on anti-depressants). If Pickett kills this bill, I hope he is remembered in the next primary and election as anti-gun and anti-veteran (many who are CHL holders).

I’m sending you this alert at Kelly Holt’s request. She is currently at the Capitol, andjust learned from a “reliable source” that HB700 (OpenCarry) will NOT move forward (i.e. die in committee) unless there isextreme pressure made on the committee chair, Joe Pickett, to allow a vote onit in committee.

If you haven’t yet done so, please act upon herprevious alert PLUS contact anyone you know in El Paso (Rep. Pickett’sdistrict), urging them to contact his district office (his own constituents wield the most influence): CORRECT PHONE NUMBER: 915 – 590 – 4349.

As suggestedbefore, contactEl Paso veterangroups to enlist their help!

Here is another email I recieved from Ricardo Ramirez himself.

Do what I have done for the past several hours, call and e-mail His Highness A.K.A Speaker of the House, every single State Representative you can get a hold of, also LT Governor Dewhurst.

And last but not least Gov. Rick Perry, he is on the record saying he was in favor of HB700.

We can’t let me get away with it. Look at what happened just few days ago in Temple Texas, a highly decorated Veteran was arrested for no other reasons than owning a AR rifle, he is CHL holder and still got arrested, his AR and sidearm (concealed) got confiscated. Texas is Gun Friendly only on paper. It isn’t good.!!!

Because his wife treats him like Barney Fife, and will only let him carry one bullet, which must reside in his shirt pocket. Some folks just shouldn't be allowed to carry a loaded weapon on their hip.

Me, I am all for it although I doubt I would carry openly.

I agree, chances are I wouldn't open carry either, but it would cover accidental exposure of a concealed weapon.

Latest email I recieved
This is what’s really unacceptable, these are our elected officials, we pay their salaries before we even pay our own mortgages, before we even see our depleted paychecks, they get theirs.

And we have no clue as to what is going on behind doors at our Capital City. Why isn’t our Governor taking care of our basic Constitutional Rights instead of travelling to Chicago?

He is the one who should be accountable for. If Mike Martinez gets elected as the next Austin City Mayor, we are all in for it. TOTAL GUN GRAB/CONTROL.

The Second Amendment protects the First Amendment, we all have forgotten about that little fact!

Can you find a single instance where someone was prosecuted for "accidental failure to conceal" in Texas?

There was a lengthy thread on the tx chl forum where a member was arrested for just that by either an off duty cop or a detective. I don't know what come of it though.

Accidentally failing to conceal is not a crime.
Your jacket "riding up" and showing your firearm is not a crime.
In order for failure to conceal to be prosecuted, it must be intentional.
We're making a big deal out of a non issue.
If you want to open carry, that's fine. But don't use a non existent concern to fuel your case...

That's what the libtards on the left do to all of us !!
