I have a Remington 700 ADL and recently decided I'm gonna get some work done and start shooting long range. So I have my stock and scope picked out but for looks purposes I was wondering if anyone has installed the kits to turn the rifle into a detachable magazine

Not to discourage you, certainly do what you like with your rifle, but I'd get the stock and scope on and start shooting it first. I'm willing to bet you'll find lots more important stuff to spend money on than a detatchable magazine conversion. When the dust settles, if you still want it, go for it. Good luck to ya'!

I have a Kwik Klip DBM conversion on a Bobby Hart Accublock stock. Sorry about the first picture being inverted.

IDK if the KK conversion will work on all aftermarket stocks. But if the stock profile is approximately the same as factory, it should work. I had ~1 minute very light sanding to fit it, plus a couple of (included) shims for a flush fit.

Cost is ~ $100.00 for the DBM + shipping/tax from Cabela's. That includes a four-round magazine. That's a 10-round in it, and they are ~$45.00. They work quite well. The only issue is the 10-rounders will rattle a little due to weight and a generous fit tolerance.

Note these are only for long-actions; no short-action KK conversions are available that I know of. These also work with common belted magnums like 7MM Remington and .300 WM, but capacity is reduced by one.

What stock are you going to use?

That will help determine what bottom metal you can use.

Most stocks will come in letter for a specific brand of DBM system. If its inletted for standard BDL setup you'll have to send it off to get milled out so the DBM will fit.

Thanks. It's .25/06 and the laminate is Coffee. Forum member Coyotekiller refinished it in Norrell's Moly Coat, and I like how it picked up the gray in the stock. Scope is a 4x20 AO Vari-X 3 I had Leupold put M1 turrets on. Karl Kampfeld skeletonized the handle and put on one of his medium Hunter knobs.

I really like what I'm reading about the choate tactical full body aluminum bedded. They make them for ADL, with no cut and BDL with cutout for drop plate. I might just buy a used bottom plate. I just need the bottom plate and screws and it will
Bolt straight on correct? I just don't like racking each shell out. I don't know if I mentioned it or not but this is a .270

It'll be this stock. In LA obviously. It has good reviews from multiple forums. It will be a major upgrade from factory stock, I just can't afford a 500$ stock while I'm in school.

It should, since it's made to accept BDL BM.

The profile of that stock suggests the Kwik Klip conversion would work, and given your rifle is .270, you're GTG.

If I recall correctly, the magazine box will have to be changed too if you are going to convert an ADL to a BDL. One of them is held in with a small screw the other is not but I can't remember which one is which.
