Does anyone know how to remove duracoat? I need to remove so from an XDM barrel.

Depending on how well it was applied in the first place, I've seen several methods work. Naval Jelly, or any kind of aggressive metal stripper should work in most cases. For really stubborn duracoat, you'll probably have to bead blast it off.

Some rifle bore cleaners will remove Duracoat. Ask me how I know! I would think an ultra sonic cleaner in a solution that will remove it should do the job.

Aircraft remover maybe? It will do some serious work on enamel and other types of paint. Pretty strong stuff!

Some fellows are always criticizing Duracoat, maybe they could help?

Duracoat will scratch off poorly prepped surfaces, aside from that it doesn't come off easy unless you're bead blasting it.

Rustoleum Aircraft stripper and a brass wire brush will remove duracoat with no problem. Get yourself some good rubber gloves and an aluminum pie tin or aluminum foil. Strip the firearm, lay it on the foil, pour the stripper on top. Let it sit for a while, then come back and slowly work the wire brush over the metal. That stripper is nasty stuff, so try not to splash it around and keep it away from your skin and eyeballs. I have stripped, cleaned and reprepped an entire 1911 in less than an hour. I went from this to this
