I don't believe so...I was told It is one of the largest bears he had taken in the past ten years.

Yea, you can still hunt them, you just cant bring the trophy back to the US. I know of some guys that have shot bears and the outfitter is keeping the skins, just in case the import ban ever gets lifted.

I think you are mistaken. They are hunted in Alaska. That's in the U.S. the last I checked.

natives are the only ones who can hunt them in Alaska. The other hunts are done in northern canada. You cant import those bears. Wish you could though, id love to hunt one. I think you are mistaken. They are hunted in Alaska. That's in the U.S. the last I checked.

If it was up to The State of Alaska you would be able to hunt them, since they come under the Marine Mammals Act, they fall under Federal Control.
