Between Thanksgiving and Christmas when the rut is on. but there are enough deer that anytime would probably work.

i was wondering about rut timing, thats a whole month, when is the peak generaly?

The peak of the rut is usualy around Dec. 1st. We bowhunt the latter part of Oct, just too hot in early bow season. Where in Sutton County do you hunt? We are in the southwest portion of the county.

killed a 24" in june and saw some real good ones, it was my first axis but i doubt i would hold the string on him if i had already killed a dozen they make alot of noise, i wonder if you can call them??
