I saw these on my way home yesterday. I drive 15 miles of this road every day , I have seen birds near this location several times , about 2 miles from Neches River.

there are a few houses in the area. Any way to tell wild
birds from domestic ?
pic from Iphone , I should put a better camera in the truck.

They both will taste good when prepared correctly.

The short buff colored tailfeathers make it look like a domestic bird. It still tastes just like chicken.

I don't think it's legal to hunt turkey's in Cherokee County. I know they just recently re-introduced them around there.

I could be very wrong though.

Probably birds from a relocation effort.

Aren't wild and free range virtually the same thing? Turkey season is closed in Cherokee this year and will be for at least a couple more years as the NWTF and TPWD are trying to restock the birds in that area. The birds you are seeing are wild and are probably part of the restocking efforts.

Live to hunt, hunt to live.

Even if you cant hunt them in your county, it has to be great to see them. Hopefully the reintroduction will work!
