I've been waiting for 9 months to shoot a big boar and thanks to a friend inviting me out to East Texas this weekend I was able to take down this monster. I'm not sure what he weighed but I'm 6'6 205lbs so I'm thinking he's maybe 300lbs? Oh and I was actually varmit hunting and he came running with some sows that were trying to get my distressed cottontail call.

Wow .. that's a big boy ! Congrats on the shoot ! he's buzzard bait now ! It's funny you say that because within 30 minutes of me shooting him those things had already found him! I actually had to scare them off when I went back to take the pic and those dang things had already eaten his eyes.

Apparently a 223 will kill a pig... It's a 6.8 SPC and I was using SSA 110 Barnes TSX.
