my stepfather has a champion, never had any problems with it. i think he bought it like 8-10 years ago and it was approx $800. its a pain in the [censored] to move though, like every safe, we only moved it once and said the hell with it.... thats where its staying!

I have a john deere made by liberty, just need to finish the house to put it in. The local john deere house had one for display that was in a guys barn between a 55 gal drum of oil and 6 truck tires (he was building a new house). When the barn burned the fire chief said the temps were probably around 1800 degrees for at least 4 hours. Liberty paid for a locksmith to open it to see what it looked like on the inside.
Took the locksmith 3 days at his shop with liberty's help to get it open. It still had one of the instruction sheets inside that was only slightly browned along the edges. I'm sure there are several quality brands out there but I'm sold on liberty.

I've seen some pictures of the inside of a safe after a fire and it wasn't pretty. I'd prefer just to get an insurance check and buy new ones.

I'm not sure if this is the thread of the pictures or not because I can't seem to recall if I was a member of this site and my e-mail address has changed. If someone else is a member perhaps they can post the pictures here.

Alot of people are kidding themselves re-fire rating.

On my second Liberty (Cabelas model) and have had great luck with them. Only reason I have had 2 is because I out grew the first one.
