I have no problem at with this... This bill would expand the scope of the current federal database – the National Instant Criminal Background Check System – to flag individuals who have used an insanity defense, were ruled by a court to be dangerous, or were committed by a court to mental health treatment.
To be determined

While I agree that no one who is mentally ill, especially someone who used an insanity plea to get out of harsher punishment for breaking the law, should own a gun, I am very fearful of any measures that would further restrict the public's access to guns. I feel like if we give an inch, they will take a mile, so to speak.

Can you explain your reasoning behind the title? I don't see it backed up in any way in the link you posted.

SO...What is the issue? They are making money, training instructors, providing jobs and benefits, maintaining a pro-gun network of like-minded individuals and businesses, and are lobbying and standing up for gun rights.

Actually, they are pro-second amendment and I am more suspicious of you, as I know what the NRA is about. Where do you get off attacking them? What's your line-to-gain?
This cannot be fixed at the voting booth.. Wake Up You Morons!

They may ask for money all the time, however the are lobbying all the time for the right to keep and bear arms. I have no dought that the democrats/government would have taken away our guns long ago if it weren't for them.
If I'm not hunting something I must be dead.

I disagree and agree. They are a necessity for us and they are our largest ally. That doesn't mean they aren't just like the jerks on the other side of the fence putting money in their pockets to blow while they stuff their mouths with shrimp over a two martini lunch. But hey, who wouldn't want to be a lobbyist and make millions of dollars while smoking cigars with lawyers and betting on the next thoroughbred to be in your stable.
"In about three hours from the time we went on board, we had thus broken and thrown overboard every tea chest to be found on the ship, while those in the other ships were disposing of the tea in the same way, at the same time. We were surrounded by the British armed ships, but no attempt was made to resist us...And it was observed at that time that the stillest night ensued that Boston had enjoyed for many months."

Your or my voice means nothing....our voices mean every thing.
NRA is a very good sensable collaboration of all our voices.
Unfortantly no extremely large collarboration appeases every individual

If we didn't have the NRA fighting for our rights we would have lost our gun rights long ago. It takes a lot of money to fund there efforts and I am proud to support them and offended when someone bad mouths them !!!!

If you don’t like the NRA, that’s fine with me, but please don’t throw in the towel. There are other good organization like Gun Owners of America, Second Amendment Foundation and the Texas State Rifle Association. Please support them.

While I may not agree with some of the ideas that the NRA pushes or like the way they push those ideas, I do have to say without them we would have lost the Right a long time ago. The main objective is to protect what our Founding Father set up in the Second Amendment.
CHILDREN ARE OUR FUTURE FOR TOMORROW. INVEST IN TOMORROW BY TAKING A CHILD HUNTING OR FISHING TODAY.

Let's see, we had several whackadoodle nutjobs kill a bunch of folks in a short period of time and the left immediately wanted to take our guns away instead of going after the person holding the gun. All this bill does is make it possible to lay the blame where it belong-on the crazy bastid pulling the trigger!

Wow, I'd say you're a bit off there. If it wasn't for the NRA, I doubt you'd have this platform to even piss and moan on. I'm not even sure why I'm replying to you, you sound like an idiot.

The NRA MAY be about money, but keep in mind it takes lots of money to counteract the tactics employed by the "Brady Bunch". Only one or two lawyers in that group can and do create years of work to undo their litigations!
This regulation being proposed by Senator Graham will help clarify the regulations regarding the mental illness issues that affects veterans more than any single group.
This statement made by the Brady Bunch is highly inaccurate -
“But the reality is 40% of gun sales in our country don't require a background check,” he said, referring to the gun show loophole. “Every day in our country, there are guns being purchased by dangerous people, and we can stop that just by extending background checks.”
First question, what is the source of that information? That statement is a complete fabrication. A criminal or felon is most likely NOT going to purchase a gun at a gun show! Why would they risk being arrested at that gun show? The two Boston bombers had guns and no record of their being purchased any where; the older brother was not a legal citizen and not eligible to buy a gun!
The NRA is the only organization that is equipped to act nationally to protect 2nd Amendment rights, whereas the TSRA is Texas only. If the TSRA wants to go national....it will take much more money than they currently take in from Texans.

I am also confused as to your premise about the NRA as the article has not detracted nor added to your Criticism. All I know is the Anti Gun folks have not hesitated to attack and degrade the NRA and it's leader ship. I am sure this is due to their effectiveness. Not a single federal law has been passed to restrict my right to bear arms under the Obama administration and for this I owe a debt of gratitude to the NRA. In fact I am sending an additional donation today because whatever they are doing with the money it is sure working. Thank God for the NRA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My commitment to the second amendment is not just the life I live, but the donations I make. Conservatives are guilty of not fighting the fight sometimes like the leftys.
