For a 1 1/2 year old deer to have 300 inches of bone on his head. The reason I ask is that some guy on another forum claims that they have a breeder deer that is 1 1/2 and is that big. I find that very hard to believe. Im talking best possible conditions and pumping protein into the deer every day or whatever they do to make those deer grow that big.
Thanks,
JP

seems far fetched to me. that would be his first full rack. even with great genetics and protein feed, just seems too good to be true

They can get big with genetics and pouring protein to them, but 300 inches? I'd want to see pictures and a birth certificate.

That's why I don't even take the Texas Trophy Hunters magazine anymore. It's turned into a "freak show" full of ads showing these pen raised deer for sale that will never resemble anything close to what they are in a pen raised environment if they lived in the wild.

Yep, I canceled for this very reason. It's just silly at this point. I'm not even interested in seeing pictures of them.

Yeah a good lie...er...story.., is always better with pictures. I think they put a electrical dog stimulator collar on each horn and electrically stimulate the horns as they grow.

I've personally seen a pen full of 200-260" yearlings, but never have heard of a 300" yearling.

I'm not impressed either way. Freak show is right. They're just plain ugly.

Not just ugly...fugly!!! Those freaks with all the junk on top will never, in my eyes, surpass a nice wide & heavy 8 or 10 pt coming out of the brush in front of me.

The guy we just leased from outside llano has a high fence/breeding operation going and we saw a 3yo with 210" of bone on his head. He's putting him out in the 250acre pin next year. He's already getting offers for up to $13,000.
