There is a guy on Ranch road 12 in San Marcos offering the same hunt deal. But he is going by Clint and has 3000 acres. Wonder if it is the same guy?

I hunted this guys property 2 years ago, he is full of it. A group of us leased his spot near the windmill and come to find out when we were not in our stands he had day hunters hunting our stands and our feeders. This guy thinks he knows hunting and he his full of it.

This thread was started in 2011 so this is probably the one you're thinking about.

Guys, I cannot defend someone that's dishonest, but to say "he traps & released hogs, ect" for you to hunt and compare it to almost every exotic game ranch around does the very same thing in some manner. Also many of the so-called TV docs. where hogs or other animals are taken is from a trapped animal, sometimes not released except when the hunter is setup and ready to shoot..Thats why we sometimes get a bad rep....it's not always hunting..but stop and consider, most of us hunt or have hunted from blinds, stands, ect..rarely are animals hunted on foot fair chase, but shot over baited areas..Careful of our opinions..some come closed to home..DD

I can only speak from a 1 day hunt that my son set up on this lease with George. Yup, he's full of big talk. However, I cannot say it was a scam, as some seem to have experienced. We "hunted" the last weekend in December, 2012. From a blind, not really my style, but I was spending the time with my son whom I get to spend very little quality time with since he got married and lives in a different city. In that one day, I shot a very nice big doe and a large turkey hen while my son took a very large turkey hen. Arriving back at the ranch house (George's modular cabin), there was a small 9 point buck, a very large doe and a medium size doe hanging on the rack. I do not know how many hunters were there or if anything else was taken that weekend. We were told that the place was overun with hogs, and I did see a fresh wallow and some tracks but no hogs. I'll see if I can find any of his posted pictures and see if any of them were from that weekend.

I will try to offer some objective balance here. Keep in mind that I have not actually hunted on property maintained by George.

I have not hunted with George but have ridden around for about two hours in the front part of the property while he corned the roads one evening. This was just recently. So, not during deer season. I saw probably 8 blinds, feeders, and pens. They were in average condition and all feeders seemed to be operational with feed in them. We saw several doe and one fawn during the ride. We also saw 3 groups of hogs. A total of about 12 hogs weighing 30-70 lbs. each. This is a respectable number of sighting for a two hour period before dark on property that is not game fenced. I am an experienced hog hunter who has hunted in Uvalde, Hondo, and College Station.

I cannot say if George is the owner of the property or if the property is over hunted. I also cannot say that the stories George tells are accurate accounts. I would suggest that anyone entering into an annual lease with George, have a written agreement that you have exclusive rights to use designated blinds and feeding stations.

I get the impression that there are plenty of hogs on the property George maintains. My preliminary impression is that day hunting for hogs in the off season would be successful. However, hogs are very nocturnal and it might be necessary to hunt until at least midnight to see the larger hogs. George has some great feeder lights that should make hog hunting easy at night. I would not be surprised if George, like some other day hunt property owners, buys trapped feral hogs for release on his property. The property is not game fenced. He did say that the deer are hunted hard during deer season. That told me not to expect much during deer season.

I suggest that anyone who has read the negative comments above and still wants to try working with George, first try a low cost hog hunt. Then, make up your own mind.

I hunted a dove lease out of San Marcos a few years ago that Gould "ran". He told the paid hunters they couldn't hunt for the first 2.5 days. His reason was that Rick Perry was going to hunt it the first few days with about 5-10 other people. So when I went out the first time on the 3rd day of season I asked a game warden how many people were out here on opening day, and he said close to 100 people were out there! Doh! Beware of this guy!

Hey Chuck,
Just because it was my first post does not mean I am someone I am not. My recount of the weekend is accurate, I had never met the man before that, and neither had my son. You want to call me? I'll be glad to give you my number. Check out my username on Cast Boolits, or 1911forum. I'm a senior estimator for a very large local electrical contractor and a DPS licensed CHL instructor from ROUND ROCK. Call me up anytime at Berg Electric. A friend sent me the thread about George, so I followed it here and signed up for this website. I did not know this website existed before that. How's the old saying go? Don't pull the trigger until you know what the target is and what's behind it. I hope you are not representative of the rest of the forum members here.

That website says he was arrested for "INDEC W/CHILD SEX CONTACT-F2" shocked mad

Is this the same guy who runs hunts in Mexico, or use to? I remember somebody by that last name who was an outfitter down there. I'm pretty sure Jackie Bushman and the buckmasters use to hunt with the outfitter I'm thinking of
