This mean they are really trying to ban ammo?

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/04/...city-magazines/

Quote:
"I will tell you these are ammunition -- bullets -- so the people who have those now they are going to shoot them, and so if you ban -- if you ban them in the future, the number of these high capacity magazines is going to decrease dramatically over time because the bullets will have been shot and there won't be any more available," she said.

Looking beyond the laughable parts, then get to the point seeing what they want to do. Uhmmm.....yeah?

Just goes to show you. The people who want to ban firearms are the same peple who have no understanding of them at all. They just want to ban things that they fear...without any real education or thought on the subject.

And these are the kind of people we're going up against. How are we not overwhelmingly winning this fight?

KR, the reason we aren't winning against the demoncraps is simple: we fight with facts and they fight with feelings. And in today's world, everyone's feeling need to be acknowledged and all this patsy crap we have been seeing to on for the last decade or two where scores aren't kept for kids games and everyone is a winner and all that scat is leading up to where there are no true "facts" and only true feelings and you can't tell someone their feelings aren't a legitimate reason to change policy....

That about sums up the argument between most left vs right people...

Only part of the reason. Gun ownership is less than half of the population, and NRA membership is less than 5 million out of a population of 311 million. 1 out of 6 is not a very good ratio in anything. Then figure out how many are as fervent about 2ND Amendment Rights as some are on THF and it is easy to see why the 2ND Amendment is an easy target.

The NRA is only one voice as a lobbyist, the members can be almost 5 million voices, but most are too busy to do anything except complain. You can bet your 2ND Amendment Rights the other side is not too busy to write their Congressman and get on the phone to them.

Actually, 1 out of 6 IS good. 5 million out of 311 million is 1 out of 60! If the SHTF, I'm comfortable going up against 5 rock throwers. But not 59.

Just remember only 3% of the population fought for our freedoms during the Revolutionary war and 30% sided w/ the British.... So history and the odds are in our favor............ texas

And, you have to remember, "It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog".

We could learn a lesson from some of the liberal groups, you have to hand it to them, they know how to get "loud and proud".

I love colonial American history, but that 3% number is skewed a little as nearly 60% of the population supported independence and only 10-12% were considered loyalist, that number dwindled, especially later on (1780s). After the victory at Saratoga, the French naval intervention was instrumental in bolstering our numbers, particularly along the Hudson thus leading to the inevitable surrender/defeat of the Reds.
It's amazing how insightful and full of wisdom our founding fathers truly were. Political, intellectual, radical and by God shall I say it......"liberal". (Certainly not the bastardized modern Democrats version of it, but liberal none the less)
The very essence of early America was the combination of republicanism and liberalism as quoted in Paine's "Common Sense", that closed mindedness and myopia was the very enemy of progress and a bed fellow with tyranny itself.

I agree. We are the minority or quickly becoming the minority. By "We", I am referring to people who are the working class, taxpaying citizens who don't expect, nor even "want" a handout or entitlement. The idiots with no common sense, work ethic or values have "bred us" out of the majority by having 8 kids compared to 2.5 kids for most of us. I doubt the liberals are going to let up on gun control or socialism. Our best shot is to get Republican control of the senate and retain control of the house. Then, we can hobble along for the remainder of Obama's term. THEN, we can perhaps begin undoing the damage and repairing our country.
