I always see tons of different types of hunting arrows but I have always stuck to my Bemans ICS Hunter, I have heard great things about Gold Tips but not really much of the other brands
I was wondering what other brands have yall used for hunting, ones you like and ones you would never recommend, and what are the benefits you gain from using one arrow over another?

Personal preference, personal preference, personal preference. Also, the type your bow likes better than others. I like easton axis full metal jackets. Heavy arrow that packs a punch. Not a speed demon by any means but it's a killing machine.

I understand people may have a personal preference for what they use but why? that’s really what I am asking, for example how you just said it packs a punch but not a speed demon, cool now people know what to expect and if you have tried other arrows out and didnt get what you want I would like to know and im sure there are others who would like to as well

I have shot Easton, Carbon Express, Gold Tips, Cabelas brand, Bass Pro Brands, and there have been a few others.
I'm a Carbon Express fan. It is a personal preference, and everybody will have their say about this and that....
People think I am crazy these days, shooting a Mathews z7eXtreme Tactical with Carbon Express 350's with 5" feathers. I'm still shooting somewhere in the neighborhood of 272, and bow is super quite.

Price point is big for most people. I'm not familiar with black eagle, but if bobo says they're good then they're good. IMO a good middle of the road arrow as far as price, speed, and penetration is gold tip xt hunters. They are their mid price point hunting arrows. A tip: when you cut the xt's down, say you need 4 inches cut off, then cut two inches off of each end of the arrow. The difference in the xt hunters and more expensive pro hunters is the tolerances at the end of the arrows. By cutting off the ends off the arrows, it makes for tighter tolerances for the xt's.

I shoot Easton 2314s, yeah aluminum, mostly because I've never seen one stuck through somebody's hand when they shot like I have a carbon arrow and they work, I can see when their damaged or bent and I've killed dozens of dozens of critters with em and see no reason to change.

Just like bows it's hard to not find a decent arrow now with the mfg capabilities we have today.
One must decide what you want as far as OD, weight, straightness, spine etc. Then just match your needs with your price point.

About the only time I will skimp on an arrow is if I'm just shooting hogs, but understand, I DON'T LIKE TO DO THAT. Academy didn't have them this year, or maybe I just missed it, but last year, I made a killing on Carbon Express and Easton arrows. They were on sell at $19.99 per half dozen, and regular price were $69.99
For deer hunting, sorry, will not skimp....

Ive shot a tin of brands. I will say that Carbon Express gets my vote. I do like Eastons too but CE just shoots a little better. I will say that I wouldnt piss on GT or Bemans. Horrible excuse for arrows.
I avoid Dick's and hope they fold.

I really like my CE Maxima Blue Streaks; however, interested in learning more about the Black Eagles. Anyone know who sells them in DFW? Seems like a great arrow for the price compared to the CE Blue Streaks.

I like CE Maxima Hunters. I have been more accurate and more penetration than other arrows I have tried. That is why I stick with them.
I am a proud United States Air Force NCO and I thank all of you for your support!!!

Seems like a great arrow for the price compared to the CE Blue Streaks. I shot bluestreaks (actually still shoot them at home just because I still have 6 of them) I went with the bea deep impacts for more weight and foc. I know if you shop around you can find the rampages and carinovers for 80-90 a dozen.

I just picked up some ics hunters, they seem to be decent but I haven't taken them afield yet. I've been a hardcore maxima hunter guy for years but forgot how derned expensive they are. My budget suggested the the ics at half the price would make more sense and after shooting at the stores 20 yard range, I feel good about them. For the money I believe that I'm not loosing much. Thursday I hit the 3d course which will decide their field performance.

Well, so far they seem okay. A cursory trial at a static indoor range didn't leave me with any buyers remorse. I know that I have had some cx arrows that were outstanding and some cx arrows that were junk. My experience with the good and the bad suggests that regular practice yields constant improvement.

So far so good on the Beman ICS Hunters. I have the 340's and they shoot true and consistent. I practice out to 60 yards and I'm still skinning shafts at 30 yards; for target and hunting alike, thats everything I need. Coming from years of using the maximas, I don't notice any difference and am glad to get the same perforance w/o the $90 per half dozen price tag. Anyways, I absolutely love them, they hit true and hit hard: enough said. I would encourage anyone looking for a great arrow at an affordable price, to look no further than the ICS hunters.
