Anyone hunt near Truscott? We are looking at a possible lease west of Truscott Brine Lake. Any info would be appreciated.

I've been out there once. Beautiful country. I don't have much info, but I did see some deer on the brine lake.

I used too hunt just north of there. On our place you averaged seeing 1-3 deer per outing. Once the rut kicks in we always saw a ton of deer that had not even been seen on game cams. Bucks from 140-150 were pretty common to see mid November. Lots of hogs and varmits in that area to.

I've heard good stories about the area. Not unusual to see a 150-160 class deer. Just hoping to confirm if anyone else hunts in Knox county

I live in Knox County. The area around Truscott has been known to house some big bucks, even got some muleys roaming around. Saw a muley buck and doe chasing around on a wheat field near the lake a few months back. Good area to hunt, with I had some land there myself.

There were absolutely no deer around this area while I was growing up in Munday during the 60's unless by chance you would scare one up along the river back in the breaks but..........I have been hearing very good things from friends who still live in this area over the past 10-15 years.

Halfadozen,
we bought a small place in Knox county last fall, pretty close to you on 267. I have been impressed so far. several deer on camera this year in the 150 class. lots and lots of hogs. about 6 weeks ago I saw three mulies at one of my feeders. if you are into bird hunting, we also have lots of geese, quail and a couple flights of sandhill cranes each morning during deer season.
I don't think the deer herd is as big as other places I have hunted, but the area seems to have good quality.
hope this helps.
Lou
