There are so many cameras going around I need to hear from those that have experience with this camera. Im going to set it up this weekend.

1. How long will D Batteries last?
2. ON high quality how many pics will a 1G sd card hold?
3. What direction should it face so I dont get white out?

Thank you I40 guru's

I'm not an I-40 guru but I know a little about a lot of cameras

From what I've heard batteries will last you several months. I would be sure to set it on a feeder, this years cameras seem to have 3+ second trigger times.

I always try and point my cameras north, if north isn't possible then south is almost as good.

With Duracell about three months with Energizers about six months. Depending on how many pics you take and if it's setup in one shot or multishot.

About a thousand, I use 2 gig cards and its just under two thousand.

North or South.

Here's some of my latest I40 pics

I bought an I40 last year and bought rechargeable batteries and hooked up a 6 volt solar panel to it. Never had to replace or charge batteries all season and put it out first part of Aug. I bought another one this year and bought the moultrie solar pack built for it and will be putting it out in a week or so. I put mine facing North with the solar panel facing the south. As far as the amount of pics, it should tell you how many it will hold once you put the card in.

I have the M-40 which is just like the I-40 except it has a regular flash. Mine has been out for almost 3 months and has taken thousands and thousands of pics it is still at 55%. The I-40 should do even better, because it doesn't have the conventional flash.

I bought my I40 last year and with energizer it lasted all season and then some. I had issues with it when I pulled it out to set up this year, the led read out was not working. Moultree Customer service is awesome also. I sent it back and asked them to fix it and they sent me a brand new one. I am putting it out this weekend. You cant go wrong with the I40....Good buy!

They did the same thing with my two D40's. The time was not working, I sent them back to be repaired and they sent me two brand new ones. Thinking about getting an I40 too.

Does anyone know if you still have to keep batteries in the I40 if you have the power panel hooked up to it. I have played with it at home and it works without the batteries but didn't know if you still need to have them in for a back up.

I have both in my M40, I just left the D's in because they were still at 76 percent, even after being out for almost 4 months. It was either leave in or throw away, so I left them in there. The camera will switch to the D's if they panel fails to get enough charge.
