i have two feeders on my current lease. They are both in wooded areas.
The land owner has just cleared a section across the property (quarter mile long x 80ft wide) making a nice sendero.

what are your thoughts for feeder placement trees vs sendero?

Trees and then corn the sendero with a road feeder or by hand.

I have three small food plots - clover & wheat in the fall - that are about 1/3 acre each. If I place a feeder in the center of a plot the does will hit it without restraint, but seldom bucks except at night (as the camera proves). If I place the feeder right against the tree line surronding the plot I'll occasionally see a buck using it. But put it five yards inside the tree line and I'm golden.

If you can't laugh at yourself, give me a call. I'll gladly laugh at you.

Corn that sendero with a tailgate feeder on a regular basis and you'll draw more deer out for longer periods of time. I've found out over the years that deer will come to spread corn better, especially bucks of all ages, than they will to a feeder. If you are going to put a feeder out, put it as far away from your stand as you are comfortable in shooting at.The farther the better. And set it off to the side of the sendero, next to the brush or trees.
