I guess I take it for granted living here. I realize this is something yall might not see almost everyday, so I'd thought I'd share.

View from the top

This cloud coloration was a lot prettier in person

Just a cool picture that shows a lot of the different soil types the canyon has

I was actually surprised myself that we had water running through the canyon.

A cave

On these next two pics, I want yall to tell me what you like the best? This one is cropped and obviously B&W, the other is the original.

It is a majestic place

BTW, the lighthouse was the first time I had ever seen it myself. I've always seen the canyon, but not from the state park.

Pics are slightly blurry, still trying to learn how to take pictures on manual focus. Sure wish I had a 300mm lens too.

Getting married in June if anyone wants to get me a wedding gift, lol.

My camera is also a Nikon D5100 or 5000 I believe.

I live here. I go to school at WT, work at Gander, and at a place in Groom loading airplanes with chemical.

Great composition on the photos.

Use a faster shutter speed for sharper images.
When you crop you lose resolution and pixels, so don't over crop.
To capture the cloud colors use a tripod and a longer exposure (slow shutter).
To get greater depth of field use a smaller f-stop like f/22.

Great photos, thanks for sharing.

Great pictures. Looks a lot like where I hunt. Have some good childhood memories of Paladuro Canyon.

Great place to visit. I've taken some of the same photos in my visits to PD. I haven't been there in a year... Time to make a side trip when I'm in Amarillo.

That cave looks familiar. I believe my kids and I have been in there!

Also, we enjoy going to Groom. For those who don't know, there is a 19 story cross there with incredible bronze statutes all around showing the Passion of Jesus.
